elektrified
I believe they had a ''staff'' problem. Use the email address provided. That wouldn't surprise me The main office is in Chonburi. The C.M. office was never as good as the main office. Peter is the principal and is very knowledgeable and helpful. They will find what you are looking for. meechai
MSIG based in Bangkok but have Chiangmai branch Kawasaki recommends them as fastest to pay out. I found them very helpful on the phone when I bought my full coverage Although I actually bought it thru Kawasaki I did call for another copy of the policy later & they were quick to email me a pdf http://www.farangfriendly.com/chiang-mai/mueang-chiang-mai/insurance/msig-insurance-thailand-co-ltd-chiang-mai http://www.msig-thai.com/msig/html/default.aspx?Changed=true Edited October 31, 2013 by meechai

skills32
I bought a Kowasaki Boss a few years ago and asked my Thai police friend about insurance. He took me to an insurance shop close to where Dukes on the river is and it cost something like 750 baht. I had an accident ( car coming out of the bush without looking on ring road 2 ) and busted my shoulder. Any way the people at Rajavet asked me if I had insurance? yes. OK you can claim 15000 baht, which was 1/2 of the bill. About 3 months later I went to their head office in Mae Rim and the first question I was asked was 'why have you waited so long to claim?' Apparently the Thais go there first on the way to hospital. Any way an hour later I walked out of there with a cheque for 15000 baht and it didn't bounce. I was also asked if I wanted to claim damage to the bike which was only scraped and I said no. This sounded like comprehensive ins to me and cost nothing like the premiums mentiondd above. No wonder the ins bloke gives good service; He is probably putting the ins through the mob I used and getting a nice little earner. yingyo
I remember a similar thread and from memory it was very expansive, something around 18 000 baht(there abouts) and i think it was Tokyo Marine (is that the name? or something alike) who offered it. It completely depends on the bike. What bike do you want to insure OP? Edited October 31, 2013 by yingyo
yingyo
Also consider an ATM card from Kasikorn that includes their accident insurance. It was 200b p/a, then went up to 400b p/a, perhaps it's more now. Debited directly from your account each year. This will cover around 5000b in any hospital after an accident. That is enough for x-ray, doctor's check up and any medication. A friend had an accident in Ratchada in BKK and they were taken by ambulance to Pra Ram 9 hospital, an expensive private hospital more akin to a 4 star hotel. Showing the ATM cards covered all checks, x-rays, follow ups, ambulance, medication. Good to have for a few hundred baht a year. Of course also get first class vehicle insurance. Full Comprehensive does not have limits like 15,000 Instead it has things like 3rd party liability 500,000 each person 10 Million each accident 2.5 million property damages Bike coverage 130,000 bike damage or theft ( depends on your bike as to how much you may want to buy here) Accident personal 50,000 per person on your bike. ( not meant to really cover all ) Bail Bond 300,000 You hopefully will not need it but that bail bond is important believe it or not You sound like you had a small scooter accident ( well under 200cc & did not need repairs by your account ) & caused by someone else. If riding a full sized bike @ speed & you hit even a mildly a well off Thai in an expensive car you would find you might have been jailed for many moons or until you coughed up some serious cash in any countries currency. You could be liable for damages to an expensive car, or worse a person injured for life in an accident deemed to be "your" fault. Your also responsible for any property damage you may have slid thru. Folks business fronts, walls, fences etc. They may say freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose. But do not make the mistake of thinking if you have no money to pay the overage your insurance did not cover your off the hook. Your going to end up in Thai prison period Edited October 31, 2013 by meechai

BlackArtemis
Only Lockton and AA would pick up my 2nd hand 650r Ninja, I called around to many places and they would not insure it. I went with Lockton because it was a better deal.
