cup-O-coffee
Who knows? But this certainly makes good cannon fodder for some cheap, dime-novel tripe from another incompetent "reporter", as is always (always!) the case. "neglected forest". 'Had to laugh at that one. How about "cruelly neglected forest", and then bring on the environmentalists. Hey! Maybe it was the environmentalists who murdered him? Who knows? Spalpeen
Just about the lowest crime it's possible to imagine. I sincerely hope the Buddhist belief in karma is true and that the murderers get what they deserve.

That anyone would want to steal from someone who had so little in the way of possessions makes it seem all the more sad.

Didn't know the man myself, so I can't say anything about his choices and decisions in life, or why you seem to think he was lonely. Maybe his brain was fried from too many bad decisions in life, and he wore out his welcome with his fellow Thais. Maybe he did something that brought on retaliation. There are a lot of maybes. I don't know, and neither do you.

KittenKong
Astounding amount of gratuitous violence in Pattaya these days. This bit seems particularly pointless and nasty.

scunner
A robbery? From the report it sounds like this poor fella didn't have a brass farthing, let alone anything worth nicking.
