I need to replace a mb. The newer 1150 socket boards are nice, but way over what is needed for this pc.

If anyone has a used one, with a quad core cpu, the better!

This is an obsolete board, btw.

Tks

"This is an obsolete board, btw."

Obsolete or not I've had one in constant use for donkey's years and you're not having it. Sorry!

Mine is streets ahead of many modern boards for "i" processors that I have seen. In fact I'm dreading the day when it fails and I have to replace it with something new.

I hear ya. Some of these boards run forever. Mine, well, one ram slot is not working, the audio is busted and the sata2 connector goes on and off. Asus board.

Luckily it is not my work computer, where I do tons of stuff on it. But this 775 board is important for mua.

Have you looked at Alibaba ... I've just ordered a 'repaired' board for my HP Laptop ... they said 5 days to deliver.

You only need to go to the shops selling second hand computer parts to find plenty of 775 motherboards and cpu's. Panthip, Zeer and Fortune all have these shops.

Cheers Spoonman.

I am in Phuket, not BKK. Yes, I can go to second hand shops, etc. Rather get it from the owner directly and avoid surprises.

One good thing about the shops in Bangkok is they give you a 30 day warranty so you have some time for testing. Most important thing to check are the caps. I've still got a couple of 775 boards running without problems but a Mini-ITX 1150 is on my to do list, overkill I know but time for an upgrade.

Is 775 the old P3 or P4? I have a working Intel DG101C that runs on DDR2 lying around - I was going to turn it into a router but I cannot be arsed to go and buy the NIC's - if you want it drop me a PM you can have it, case 2GB RAM PSU / old hard drive - another unfinished project!!! etc. for the price of the postage and 200 Baht for my diesel....if you can wait a few days, you can forget the 200 for the diesel as I need to go into the Post Office to pick some things up...drop me a message.

I think I still have a brand new ASUS P7P55D LX motherboard in a box here - I know it isn't 775 - I think it is LGA 1155 or something, again another project that never came to fruition - and another board that I would be happy to give to someone that is willing to pay the postage - Not being funny, but I offered this a while back and all I got were greedy Thais trying to get something for nothing looking to sell it on...I would rather it went to some good use for some kids PC etc. as it is still quite a decent piece of kit!
