Hi,

We are making a four week visit to SEA in august and plan to get married in Krabi. My fiancee wants to buy a wedding dress while in BKK (a traditional western white dress).

We are on a tight schedule, first two weeks looks someting like this:

Sunday arrive early in BKK

Monday fly early to Malaysia

Wednesday fly early to Hanoi

Saturday fly late to BKK

Wednesday fly late to Krabi (where the weding ceremony will take place)

So we got one Sunday and after that a Sunday to Wednesday to shop for a wedding dress :o

Questions:

1 Are Wedding shops open on sundays and on Queens birthday 12th and 14th of august ?

2 Do wedding shops have "ready made" wedding dresses?

3 If nr2 ok, have long will it take to make adjustments so the dress fits, will 1 day be enough?

For thoose who looks for wedding shops in BKK I can tell you - It's darn hard to find them on the net!

Some info I found is good to have, so I post them here:

Wedding shops sems to be at Thong Lor road, Around KSR (khosan road) and Silom road

Wedding shops and portals:

Wedding planner Bkk, portal in Thai http://www.wedding.in.th/

Thong lo is the area for bridal shops. they open Sundays and I would guess also on the 14th. I think you will have sufficient time for any alterations, or rather my wife does(thai). After all its Thailand and they know how to do things like this in a hurry....trust me, yours won't be the tightest schedule they have worked to!!

There are wedding dress shops in all areas of the city but don't expect to find anything much on the internet as that is not used by most people here (for anything more than chat or playing games). I know there are several shops on Latphao Road and often see on travels so do not believe you will have any trouble finding one.

It it the main road in the North-East suburb of Bangkok running from Central Latphao (across Airport road from JJ (Chatchuk weekend market) to Bangkapi. Rachada crosses it.

But there is no reason to go far from your hotel (if you stay downtown) as there are places all over the city these days. Hotel or taxi will know places in the area you stay.

You won't go far in Thailand nowadays without finding a shop selling western style wedding dresses. They even have one in my village and there's only 500 people living here. :o
