my passport was stolen and I paid the fine in court and was told I was welcome to stay in Thailand after getting new passport and visa but the immigration police took me to IDC instead of the USA embassy because I did not have 6000 tbh to give them and then I came back to USA and got new passport and was told by the embassy that I was welcome back anytime after getting new passport.

Yes, you are welcome back to Thailand. No worries.

Must be more to the story than the OP posted. You wouldn't end up in court with a 6000 baht fine for a stolen passport!

Not much details are given, but might be the case that the OP overstayed as a result of losing his passport, went to court instead fof dealing with immirgaitonregarding the fine and payed the court imposed fine. (Which is less than you would pay immirgation)

Immigration then took him to IDC for deportation for overstay as he didn't have a ticket out of the country, which is required.

yes ex girl friend turned me into police for no pass port and overstay court fine was 7000 bht I paid, and then the immigration cop asked for bribe in the car going to Bangkok I did not have the cash on hand so he took me to IDC instead of the USA embassy

Yes, clearly here more to the story than told.

No reason for a 6000 Baht fine unless There was overstay involved ..... and a stolen passport can be resolved by reporting that stolen passport to the police and presenting that police report to your embassy.

Going through the passport replacement process gets you a letter from the immigration which replaces your original entrance visa, and there is no overstay levied as long as you get a new passport to cover your lost passport/visa.

Mo overstay charged in that case .... as long as you go through the correct process.

Now not going through the process, and not reporting your passport as stolen/lost originally ... that's when the problems start.

But, overstay and even time in IDC does NOT bar you from re-entry later unless simply from overstay and/or time in IDC, unless other charges are applied.

You are NOT blacklisted merely for overstay or even IDC time only.

P.S. As for the bribe allegation .... I simply don't know. it wouldn't be the first time such a story has been heard ... but I just don't know.
