Jatuporn claims protesters seek to topple the government



BANGKOK, 8 November 2013 (NNT) - Jatuporn Prompan, a core leader of the National United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD), has claimed that the ongoing amnesty bill protesters are seeking to topple the government.

According to Mr. Jatuporn, the current demonstrations comprised the same group of people that had assembled against Thaksin prior to the 2006 coup d’etat. Demanding that the amnesty bill and all other 6 reconciliation drafts be pulled out immediately was impossible, as there is still a 180-day period that they must remain by law.

The UDD leader stressed his reassurance that he would never side with the Democrat Party due to the heinous crimes, according to him, Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva and Mr. Suthep Thaugsuban committed during their time in power.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commerce Minister, Nattawut Saikua, another core leader of the UDD, stated that the amnesty bill has already been turned down by the Senate; therefore, this should prove to the anti-amnesty bill protesters that their goal has been achieved - making it unnecessary to continue any further protests.

Then get the amnesty bills completely killed and watch the protests dry up. Then you will be left with the hard core protesters that will do anything to get rid of the government.

It was only yesterday that Jatuporn and Thida said that they no longer offered their support to the Government. Now this 'peoples court' farce leaves them no option but to side with the Government again. Suthep is getting carried away with himself, he had the PTP totally cornered and now the red bully boys are going to come back in to the frey. Suthep, rule 1...Know your limits, rule 2...see rule 1.

Maybe they should change their party Name form National United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship to National United Front of Dictatorship Against Democracy! sounds a lot more suitable for this bunch of crooks.

This expert on electoral law should explain why it is impossible for the Govt to rescind this abortion of a law and withdraw it from the senate.

He cant seem to see that standing on the red stage and urging people to violence and arson is a heinous crime.

He cant see that by first accepting then rejecting Abhisit's offer of an election makes him and his red leader mates responsible for everything that happened after that rejection.

Had they packed up and gone home peacefully at that point there would have been no more violence, deaths. injuries or burning.

From their comments it sounds like Jabba and Nutty have been skiving off lessons at Red School.

Those Red shirt leaders are part of this Thaksin game and should be ashamed of themselves. In 2010 they have preached day in and out of how undemocratic the Dems are and that PT will make live much better for the Thais.

They have done exactly the opposite the last 2 years.

Of course those protesters who don't agree with your position are attempting to overthrow the govt. The guys who don't agree with you are always the bad guys.

Some governments and political groups just have a hard time dealing with democracy....they would much prefer autocracy.

Well to be fair to them at all whistle concerts I went to the protesters were shouting government get out ........ not amnesty bill get out. So it seems public anger is more than just the amnesty bill.

Luckily for the government they didn't lie, they can withdraw the six amnesty bill scheduled in parliament but not discussed yet. The other bill will indeed remain either rejected or modified for a possible 180 days. Of course if the government is sincere they could have all coalition partners vote to reject the bill once the Senate hands it back to them.

I honestly can't imagine him lecturing to any anti-gov't protestors.
