Right north-west of the Impact center (Muang Thong Thani), there is a large empty parking lot, presumably for use for parking during high volume events.

Anyway, this parking lot is always empty.

10 days ago, they started putting up what looks like a temporary race track, using concrete barriers to mark the lanes

They also put tires in the turning points to protect the drivers I presume. It now looks like a oval shaped racing track.

Anybody have any idea what is it for?

To test drive cars during the motor show next month.
