Lite Beer
Suspected gunman in Jakkrit killing arrestedPhathinya Iamtan,Khanathit SrihirundajThe Sunday Nation Suspected gunman Jeerasak Klinkhai, centre, is escorted by plainclothes policemen to a press conference at the Metropolitan Police Bureau yesterday.BANGKOK: -- Police offer reward for information on his accomplices; close in on mastermindWith the arrest of the suspected gunman, police are now close to nailing the mastermind behind the killing of former Olympian shooter Jakkrit Panichpatikum.A highly placed source yesterday confirmed that the self-confessed gunman, Jeerasak Klinkhai, had already named his hirer.Following Jeerasak's arrest, Jakkrit's wife Nithiwadee Phucharoenyos was summoned for questioning in connection with his murder case.Jeerasak had been on the run for weeks. Following the shooting of Jakkrit, the suspect headed back to his repair shop in Chon Buri's Sri Racha district and resumed his normal life.He was arrested in the shop.Metropolitan Police Commissioner Lt-General Camronwit Toopgrajank himself announced the arrest of Jeerasak at a press conference yesterday."We are now going after his two accomplices as well as the mastermind," he said. While he identified the names of the accomplices, he did not name the mastermind.Arrest warrants have already been issued for Santi Thongsem and Tawatchai Phetchote on charges of collaborating on a pre-meditated murder."We're offering cash reward of Bt100,000 for information that will lead to each arrest," Camronwit said.Pol Maj-General Prayont Lasuea, a commander at the Metropolitan Police Bureau, said Jeerasak had confessed to firing at Jakkrit without knowing exactly who he was."I was simply told to gun down the man who drove the Porsche with licence plate number 2223," Jeerasak was quoted as speaking, "I was riding pillion on a motorcycle driven by Tawatchai".According to Prayont, Jeerasak said he had received Bt100,000 for the killing and Tawatchai also received the same amount of money from Santi. On October 19, Jakkrit was fatally shot while on his way to meet his wife and their children. The couple had a rocky relationship. Earlier in the year, Nithiwadee and Jakkrit's mother had complained publicly of his domestic violence.Jeerasak told police that he was not a professional killer but decided to take up the killing job from Santi because his small business was not doing well."I was running out of cash," Jeerasak said. He said he knew Santi through their drinking pastime.Jakkrit's father Manop Panichpatikum praised the police for significant progress in the case."For nearly one month, I have been swallowing my tears," Manop said. He said he did not know Santi and Jeerasak at all.The father said he did not know if Nithiwadee was really involved in the murder."We have not been in contact. I last saw her at the funeral of my son," Manop said. -- The Nation 2013-11-

Beats collecting stamps or coins any day of the week!! The attitude here sadly proves that we are living in a seriously sick society. Only question that remains, is if the dear wifes Dr-tittle and her money is enough to get her off the hook? Silly me! Ofcourse it is.

Will someone please correct me if I'm wrong but I seem to remember when the murder was first reported a poster said the wife supposedly had a ' friend ' of several years standing who was a police officer. If i've got it right and the inital post is correct is there any chance this is why the mastermind hasn't been named ?
coma
Reports state that a lawyer close to the wife's older brother organised the hit with a 600,000 baht budget. The lawyer, whom also organised Ekk's wife's personal security team, then contacted a professional gunman agent. The agent then contracted 4 men, all from Surat Thani, to carry out the shooting. Most will be aware that in many jurisdictions naming suspects isn't done except in special circumstances and only with permission from the highest level of authority in the legal system. In Thailand many legal nicities go by the board unless, as you correctly point out, it involves a ' somebody ' no matter how that may be defined.

Ulic
The plot thickens, as the noose tightens. Most seem to break under intense police questioning. A 50% sentence reduction is a big inducement. Waiting to hear word on the mastermind. If it is the wife I think she will be outed. If it is the high ranking policeman,(on her behalf) less chance of being named or prosecuted successfully.
bangon04
So all that guff about amulet deals gone wrong etc was most likely a smokescreen / red herring, and the majority of people who instinctively jumped to the conclusion early on that the battered wife and/or her family was the obvious suspect will probably be right after all...?? webfact
MURDERWoman 'confesses' to role in murder of Olympic sharpshooter JakkritThe Nation Says she tried to help slain marksman's mother -in-law with ' abusive' son-in-lawBANGKOK: -- A WOMAN office worker was arrested after she was accused of initiating the high-profile murder of Olympics sharpshooter Jakkrit Panitpatikam last month.Worraphanphooree Montreeareekul was implicated by the alleged gunman, Jirasak Klinkhlai, police told a press conference yesterday. Her confession was very useful and could lead to securing an arrest warrant for Dr Nithiwadee Phooyoscharoen, the wife of Jakkrit, said Pol Lt-General Camronvit Toopkrajank, Metropolitan Police chief and lead investigator.Under interrogation, Worraphanphooree reportedly told police that she had been a customer for seven years at a beauty clinic where the doctor worked. The doctor's mother, Surang Duangjinda, reportedly told her about how the son-in-law constantly abused his wife and that she sympathised with the mother. She introduced her to a lawyer, Santi Thongsame, as the middleman who later brought in the hitman. The mother later paid Bt600,000 to the lawyer on July 29 and Bt600,000 in late September to have Jakkrit killed. The lawyer has disappeared, and Jakkrit was shot dead on October 19 while driving his car.Worraphanphooree, the lawyer and the mother met at Serirak Hospital where the wife was recuperating after a miscarriage, and "silently" discussed the murder plan. The wife was resting on the bed and knew nothing about the plot. The wife only learned during the funeral that her mother had got her husband killed, Worraphanphooree said, and added that the wife never complained about her husband, because she was a nice woman who cared about her family.Worraphanphooree said she learned about all the domestic abuse from Jakkrit's wife's mother.Manop, the victim's father, said after the press conference that his son was now resting in peace but the people who had Jakkrit slain were going to hell.He would like custody of Jakkrit's children but it would be difficult for him to raise them because they were attending an expensive international school.Police have not yet charged Worraphanphooree. They are compiling more evidence against the mother and the widow to issue arrest warrants against them.-- The Nation 2013-11-

Lite Beer
Mor Nim’s mother says she alone masterminding the shooting of son-in-law Mother of Mor Nim says she alone is the mastermind in the shooting of the former national sharpshooter Chakkrit Panichpatikam in October 19. Surangka Nualchinda, the mother of Dr Nithivadi Phucharoenyos, alias Mor Nim, and also mother in-law of the killed sharpshooter, admitted after she and her daughter turned themselves in to the metropolitan police commissioner today at the Metropolitan Police Bureau Headquarters to face alleged murder conspiracy charge.Social Development and Human Security Minister Pavanee Hongsakul was also present to give morale boost to Mor Nim.She told an army of media representatives waiting for their appearance before noon today that what she had done was that she could no longer put up with the behavior of her son-in-law who throughout the past six years had been intimidating and assaulting her daughter. She said that although she had given several chances for Chakkrit to rehabilitate himself after being freed from the military prison, he again continued to assault her daughter. She said Chakkrit even threatened to kill her if her daughter chose to abandon him to live with her.She said decision to get rid of him from her daughter’s life was her own idea without any knowledge of Mor Nim.She said Mor Nim did not know or had part in hiring a gunman to shoot him, adding that everything which she had done was to protect her daughter and the love she had towards her daughter.Meanwhile Mor Nnm, in tearful eyes and trembling voice, also insisted that she never committed adultery as was accused by her deceased husband and never wanted to grab her husband’s assets as reported in some papers. She also said that only knew of the murder plot from her mother a few days ago but was ready to face the consequences and received legal penalty on behalf of her mother. She said that throughout the past six years, her mother was in grief and cried all the time and that she now realized of how much love a mother has shown to her daughter. She also told all males who have married they should refrain from using violent mean against the family and this would could lead to tragic end like her family. Both Mor Nim and mother were later escorted to Minburi police station for interrogation. The police are still hunting for the lawyer known as Tanai Id and the motorcycle rider who drove the gunman to shoot Chakkrit as both are still at large. A 100,000 baht reward has been offered to information that could lead to the driver’s arrest.
