Insurance..

Featured Replies

Hi - just wondering if I could get some tips as I'm new here and have no medical insurance - Cheers.

A gmail address and not a company one ?

Do you require yearly medical insurance, or travel insurance that covers medical, as well as theft and cancellations.

Don't bother if you are over 65 unless you are very rich, because you probably can't afford it.

There are loads of threads in the insurance forum. Have a look there.

Annual medical insurance for general & accident please - cheers!

Has anyone heard of this company?

Yes. What do you want to know?

Who underwrites them?

Do you have a policy with them? If so, have you ever claim, and if so, how was their service?

And a mobile phone, not an office number ... sounds a bit insubstantial.

Much better to wait for an accident or illness, find that you're unable to pay for hospitalization or treatment and then rely on a Thai hospital to treat you "for free" and pass the cost onto their other patients.

And then be sure to bitch and moan because the government wants to have all tourists/foreign residents pay something to cover the costs of indigent farang.

They are too expensive for me so I don't have a policy but I do know their Asian regional CEO and a very good friend used to run their Singapore office.

They are a company in their own right so they are the underwriters themselves. UK based but catering exclusively for expats, they offer a premium product with good coverage and high limits. As far as I know their claims handling is good with a faster service than many companies. They have a good network of hospitals with direct payments. But they are very expensive.

Thanks. Their website doesn't give an automatic online quote. Have you got a ball park figure for one of their standard policies?

That I can't help you with. You'll have to use the online system, which I don't believe is instant.
