THAIPHUKET Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Firefox crashed, result was that 2 important ad-ons for Evernote were missing, Clearly and Web-Clipper, although both were still under ad-ons, I disabled both, However Restart button does´nt react. Restarting the pc doesn´t help either How to get my 2 ad-ons to show up again next to address line?
astral Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Addons can be deleted as well as stopped!! Then re-install Never not been offered the restart button but try 1. File Button at the top of the screen - Exit 2 Or you should be able to stop it from the icon on the tool bar at the bottom of your screen Right click - Close Window 3 CNTRL - ALT - DELETE and kill is from the Task Manager Then just restart FF
ThaidDown Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 If the addons are still enabled but just 'missing' from the address bar (or whatever they call it now) then you can, in the Firefox menu, go to View>Toolbars>Customise find the Evernote icon and just drag it to the position required. Or as Astral says delete the addons and reinstall. Web Clipper at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/evernote-web-clipper/ Clearly at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/clearly/
BB1950 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 If I recall there isn't a restart button by default in the newer versions of Firefox. I think in your case, the restart button is provided by an extension. Uninstall whichever restart extension you've installed and reinstall like your other problematic extensions. There are several restart extensions. Search for "restart" at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/. Not all extensions work on all versions of Firefox. What version of Firefox are you using? Only use one restart extension, otherwise there's a possibility of extension conflict.
h90 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 unfortunately Firefox is getting worse and worse I changed half to Chrome already 1

I found also a separate re-start button ( running FF 25) plus I rediscovered "turn-off -the lights" nice for watching youtube, etc I would like to thank you for your responses= E.g. I like to discover the most unlikely talents on the US or Britain´s X factor like this one http://goo.gl/XRSPtk This Lady died 1 year later, what a way to go
NanLaew Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 For those getting pissed off at Firefox's endless updates and incompatibility and crashes... Pale Moon (Version 9.1) Official website Pale Moon comes from a developer who has been creating builds of Firefox and other Mozilla programs -- Thunderbird and SeaMonkey -- optimized for specific processors ever since Firefox was at Version 1.5. His 64-bit Firefox for Windows 64-bit is based on the Firefox 9.0.1 code base, which is the stable version officially released by Mozilla for Firefox 32-bit. A benefit of Pale Moon is that it keeps to itself -- it functions separately, keeping any add-ons you install on it apart from any other version of Firefox that you may have on your computer, and not loading the add-ons and user profiles associated with the other Firefox. There's a caveat to the memory usage results below: When Pale Moon runs, it also runs one or more separate processes in the background of Windows called ""Plugin Container for Palemoon". These processes ranged in number of one to three, and sizes from 8M to 25MB, when we tested the browser. Here are the performance results: Kraken: 6187.6 milliseconds Time to load from cold start: 5.5 seconds Memory usage with one blank tab open: 76MB Time to open networkworld.com: 5.8 seconds Memory usage with one tab open on networkworld.com: 106MB
THAIPHUKET Posted November 13, 2013 Author Posted November 13, 2013 I got Chrome too, but for some reason, any sites load-up takes much longer than Firefox, plus many right-click function are missing on Chrome, e.g. email forwarding and others PaleMOON is too risky for an layman like myself Hardly ever have crashes or updates on Firefox 1
astral Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 I just experimented and added an Addon I immediately go the button at the top right asking me to Restart PS I did come across and Addon that claimed to be Restartless
Torrens54 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 I have found Firefox to be V E R Y, VERY S L O W! and it gives instructions in Thai, which is okay because we are in Thailand but I thought they might at least run something in English for the FALANG.
