Red shirts to rally in Bangkok on Tuesday, Wednesday

BANGKOK: -- Red-shirt leader Jatuporn Promphan announced on late Friday night that the red-shirt people will hold the next rally at Bangkok's Rajamangala National Stadium on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The reds will stay overnight at the stadium, Jatuporn said at a red rally in Udon Thani.

On Wednesday, the Constitutional Court is scheduled to deliver its verdict in a case filed against parliamentarians who voted for a constitutional amendment to change the Senate election system and againt the four coalition parties that backed that amendment. They are accused of violating the existing charter.

Pheu Thai deputy spokesman Anusorn Iamsa-ad Saturday said the rally will be held at 4pm to protect an elected democratic government.

CAT offers free calls to Philippines

BANGKOK, 16 November 2013 (NNT) - CAT Telecom is offering free phone calls to the Philippines for those who want to check on their relatives and friends in the Hayan-hit area.


According to Communications Authority of Thailand's chief executive Kittisak Sriprasert, the company is providing free calls to the Philippines between November 16 and November 22.

Those who want to contact their relatives and friends through the CAT system should dial 001-800-999 and then the country code plus an area code and the phone number. All fees will be waived. The call can be made from every phone system in Thailand.
