'Militant' shot dead after bomb blast in South
The Sunday Nation

NARATHIWAT: -- A suspected militant was killed in a clash with Thai security forces in Narathiwat's Rangae district early yesterday around 1.30am. The deceased was one of two suspects thought to be involved in a bomb on Friday evening bomb that killed three police in the same district.

Following a tip-off that two bombing suspects were hiding in a house in Bor Ngor sub-district, a 100-strong joint police and military force surrounded the 10-house compound at 1am and raided it before running into the pair and having a brief gunfight. They later found the body of Tuwaemarawyee Tuansulong, 34, with two shots to the head. He was reportedly wanted on five arrest warrants, with a .38 pistol near him.

The other suspect fled. Officers also took four people in the area into custody for further questioning on whether they were involved in the blast on Friday.

The bomb attack on a team of Ra Ngae police took place as they were returning to their base in a truck from a Ban Khao Kaew School teacher protection mission. The bomb killed Police Lance Corporal Worawuth Worajaruth, 25, Police Sergeant Manachai Pipitthong, 30, and Police Lance Corporal Khomsan Wongwatcharabut, 24.

Police Operations Centre for Southern Border Provinces chief Pol Maj-General Yongyuth Jaroenphanich yesterday presided over Khomsan and Worawuth's bathing rites in Muang district while Manachai's Islamic burial rite in Ra Ngae was also attended by many senior officials. Each of the three slain men's families were given Bt1 million in assistance money, plus the "Bang Rachan" medal.

A 100 man team surrounded the 10 house compound, and one guy escapes?

Yupp, and this always seem to happens.Usually armed forces adapt to an hostile enviroment and improves in their tactics to deal with insurgents or enemy forces.

But not in the Deep South.........the Thai police and military seems to stumble around like a blind elephant.

A pity for those servicemen and civilians who are on the receiving end at the bandits and terrorist bombs or shooting

Well, we can rule out suidide.

Why's that?

Because pulling that trigger a second time is quite an ask when you are already dead.

Not in Thailand it's not, multiple gun-shots to the head can always be classified as suicide, it all depends on who is signing-off the police report.

I was merely commenting on what it is, not what the BiB classify it as.

Maybe he shot himself in the head and killed himself, then got hit by stray gunfire after he was dead, either way Good Riddance to the heap of Dung.
