webfact
Whistle blowers warned by DSIBANGKOK: -- Protesters who blow whistles against any officials of the Department of Special Investigation or their chief, Tarit Pengdit, may face legal actions. The warning of criminal litigation against whistle blowers was issued Monday by the DSI chief. He said that the whistle blowers would be deemed committing an offence against Section 370 of the Criminal Code for causing noise unreasonably and against Section 397 of the same code for bullying or for putting someone to shame. He defended that the warning was not intended to escalate the political temperature but wanted to pre-empt violence.Tarit also warned DSI officials not to blow whistles as a gesture of protest against their superiors otherwise they may face dismissal from the service. He accused former Democrat MP and protest leader Suthep Thuagsuban of inciting the protesters to oust him from the office and to blow whistles at him whenever they confront him. He claimed that Suthep held personal grudges against him because Suthep is being investigated by the DSI on several cases.-- Thai PBS 2013-11-

Popular Post MikeOboe57
I admire Tarit. He is not afraid of actions and public statements with a high risk of making him look like a complete [expletive] and idiot.
siampolee
BANGKOK: -- Protesters who blow whistles against any officials of the Department of Special Investigation or their chief, Tarit Pengdit, may face legal actions. What a sad little boy this Tarit creature is, its seems as if i the creature is labouing under the delusion that he can rule by personal decree. Indeed another twisted little mind so beloved by Thaksin his family and their brown nosing acolytes. Never mind Tarit when you and your ego arrive at your office tomorrow you can play with your whistle. To ensure your personal satisfaction remember to change your operating standards after 99 blows of your whistle.so as to ensure you don't come to a sad end. bigbamboo
I'm beginning to realise why the ladyboy thing is so big here. It certainly explains why there are so many big girl's blouses in Thailand and nowhere more so than in government. Thai at Heart
Hey, if making excessive sound that invades petioles peoples privacy is illegal, I'm all for it. Lol. How the hell does he plan to create a law like this?

Gonzo the Face
The second possible charge of an action that may cause embarrassment to another with possible jail time and fine, just slays me. I would submit that if this law is on the books , someone ought to charge most of the PTP with multiple violations. ... and some others...... one being Jatuporn..... As far as Flipflopper Tarit is concerned I suspect his rep is one of going where the best results are for Tarit. Popular Post thaicbr
This is a classic.. Along with this from the news section BANGKOK: -- A Cabinet retreat in Songkhla on November 29 and 30 may be cancelled if the prime minister and Cabinet members are met with whistle-blowing protest, Interior Minister Charupong Ruangsuwan said Monday.Charupong said the Democrat should give priority to developments of southern people and avoid organising such protest. The interior minister said the Cabinet retreat would allocate more than Bt500 million of special budget for developments of southern provinces so it would be very unfortunate if the meeting would have to be cancelled. The above is basically the normal Thaksin Government southern whipping. If your naughty you will not get anything! It's not as if they CAN'T do that from BKK. slapout
Another example of using a official position for a personal purpose for which the office was never intended. The man has been issuing warning/threats of prescuation/asset seizer, to protestors, their sponsers, leaders and now the whistle blowers. This is susposed to be an investigative branch of the legal system and, not the gastopo. Another good canidate for impeachment proceedings, along with a few others that have been overlooked to date. The actions, press releases of this government are getting more unbelievable every day, and they seem too incompent to even see how much of an arse they are making of themselves. The most fitting action that comes to mind is putting them on a short leash, muzzle them, nuter them, then follow a frecn example, release all prisoners from a penal facility and put them behind the bars. rubl
In a related story k. Tarit has been accused of provoking Thai people in protesting against the government. Spokes persons of the Labour organisation representing professional whistleblowers like parkinglot guards, BTS whislers and the like, have issued a statement saying anyone trying to take away their whistle would be charged as being unconstitutional. It should be clear and obvious that a whistle cannot be taken away without causing serious harm to workers and the Thai economy. Tongue-in-cheeky DISCLAIMER any resemblance with reality should be most obviously coincidental
