Boat From Pattaya To Samui. Is It True?

Featured Replies

I just read an article that said a boat was heading from Pattaya to Samui today. 14 hours one way. It did not list price, or if it was a one time thing. Does anybody know anything about this? What a great way to get to Samui if it is an ongoing deal.

Thanks!

It's true. Tickets from 1,750 Baht return. Room rates from 4,000 Baht. Nightclub and restaurants and a spa all feature on the boat. It was suppossed to start from 1st but there was some techical problem. The boat will leave from the Bali Hai Port, three times a week. I have no contact information...sorry.

Sounds good, can you stick a car on the boat. Any links?

I can't see them getting a roll on roll of ferry up to Bali Hi Pier, but who knows , T.I.T :o

Sounds pretty good, anyone got (or can get any details)

Might be worth a try sometime :o

The phone number listed in the paper is 02 651 13469. I have not called them, but plan to try this boat within the next few months!

Howard, if you get any more info can you let us know?

Hope tis not one of them 'speedboats' they're so fond of capsizing...

I am looking at a pic of it now...it is a huge ocean going liner...like one of those cruise ships. Carries 875 passengers and who knows how many staff. Probably a total of 1200 or so people.

Do you think they remembered to have life jackets and some sort of lifeboat available for emergencies?

the pic I am looking at (if it is the boat they are using) has 4 life boats on the one side....so, at least there are 4!

probably been sold or bartered by now? :o

I believe the name of the boat is "Ocean Princess", all I could find out at the ticket booth(closed) was that it departs Pattaya at 4:30 pm and arrives in Samui at 7:30 am(the next day). No it is not a ferry but a passenger boat. I was quite surprised to see this service available as it was not really advertised....

I guess this is the one:

But no mentioning about a regular Pattaya-Koh Samui service on their website.

That's an old bugger, very old.... :D I certainly wouldn't want to join this one on a journey Pattay-Samui; too risky.

PS: and much too fast also....."Speed Max : 170 Knots" :D

BTW: They even took the name 'Ocean Princess'* from P&O Lines.... :o

LaoPo

Really nice idea. But I think I'll let her sail for awhile afore I join :o

Boat services across the gulf have happened in the past, especially to Hua Hin, but always seem to fold after a few months for some reason. Shame really as I'd pay a fair price to avoid the hassle of havinng to backtrack all the way to BKK.

to me its a waste of time and money. it gets dark at 7.00 pm so not too much to see. why not fly from Pattaya and not lose 2 nights.
