Somtamnication
Went to immigration today for the 90 day crap and lo and behold, cue numbers!!!! You go to the farang cop wannabees and they give you a number for whatever counter you need.Only took them since, what, the death of the dinosaurs, to get a cue system going, ! LivinginKata
I have noticed the screen for the queuing system for a very looong time now. I have wondered when it would be introduced. So ... as you say 'pigs do fly'. Going next month for my annual marriage extension - let's see how it goes. Maybe save the usual jockeying near the counter for the next vacant seat. LivinginKata
I have no idea why this topic has turned in a bashing of the Immigration volunteers. The topic is about a number queueing system. Posts removed.
dogpoo
Was at immigration today, so much better now, in and out in a few minutes. Sent from my GT-I8552 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

madmitch
I went a week ago for 90 day report and was surprised. Meant to post it here but forgot. Looked like it was only the front desk when I went and not the back but not sure. Britpop can report back on that one.

JetsetBkk
This is not good news for those who know how to queue jump. Not that I ever did. Ever.

IrishIvan
The farang volunteer immigration officers there are a godsend. There would be a queue from 1998 still there if it wasnt for them. They should be paid.
IrishIvan
I seem to remember them having a ticket machine there about 5 years ago. It must have been a museum artofact because from memory it never got touched
NamKangMan
You're obviously pleased with this innovative solution. Just goes to show, Phuket really is moving forward. Next thing you know, Phuket will have metered taxis, along the coast road, as well. Edited November 28, 2013 by NamKangMan

From 300 baht to 500 baht - that's quite a mark up.

britpop
Went to immigration today, everything in place, dotted the eye's, crossed all the tee's, got my ticket, waited less then 5 minutes, documents in, 10 minute wait and visa in my hand, but whilst i was there the ticket machine decided not to work correctly, the one thing i noticed is how many people turn up at immigration and the poor farang tourist police helpers, have to sit time after time explaining the simplest of procedures to them and then the farang still want to argue the point with them. I'm there this friday for retirement renewal, i shall investigate and report back, i will wear the false mustache, hairpiece and call myself, Herman!!!!! I would expect a better return than 10% for the risk involved, and taking on such a depreciating asset.
