Very, very impressive that the leader of Thailand wants to sit down with her opponents to discuss the current crisis of confidence in her government. Impressive indeed. Wow. A national leader making an attempt to resolve a crisis. Damn. Good work PM. Keep it up. We are all very proud of the level of competence you are demonstrating. Dialogue. Good step Ms. Shinawatra. No, a dynasty does not exist. No, your brother is not calling the shots. We believe everything you tell us. Keep jt up. The Thai people love you.

Asked if she understood the protesters description of the Thaksin regime, Ms Yingluck said she did not understand it and that the so-called the Thaksin regime has never existed.

If she doesn't understand then she cannot know if it never existed.

BANGKOK, Nov 27 – Embattled Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra stressed today that the government is ready for dialogue to seek peace for the country.

Not bad over two years in the job and she decides the Government should have dialogue.

In an interview with reporters before attending the no-confidence debate at Parliament for its second day, Ms Yingluck said, “We should sit down and talk. The demonstrators’ demands must end with a dialogue. The government has kept the door open, otherwise their demands will not be met. Whatever is good for the majority, we are willing to cooperate.”

Does any one know what brought on the willing to cooperate or even better believe it.

She said she has repeatedly instructed provincial governors and police to protect government buildings but refrain from using force against the protesters.

Don't get them any more pissed off than they are

Ms Yingluck said she would meet with senior officials at theministerial level today to discuss measures to protect and provide convenience to the public.

I thought that was her job to begin with. I wonder how she has managed to work that into her busy schedule of traveling shopping and white washing her brother.

Asked if she understood the protesters’ description of the “Thaksin regime,” Ms Yingluck said she did not understand it and that the so-called the Thaksin regime has never existed.

If she didn't understand it that would be grounds for unfit for the job. Also if she dosen't understand it how would she know it has never existed. Who did she think was running the country when she was out of it or at the shopping mall?

“There is only one regime. That is democracy. If they are dissatisfied, we should talk. A people’s assembly will not materialise unless we discuss related laws leading to it. We are willing to accept any resolution for the interest of the people,” said the prime minister.

Accept it and then vote against it

The government is not stubborn. We must at least have a common principle to work together. Please have your sympathy on the country. Several countries have sent out their warnings on damages to the economy and confidence on Thailand.” (MCOT online news)

Truly a dumb Dorry statement. Does she not know that white washing her brother will never be a common principal with the majority of the Thais.sad.png

I just heard a recap in English of the Ministries that they have been protesting at. If they can stop work at all of them it will hurt Thailand in some areas.

But in many cases it will be an improvement.

Honestly I don't know what else she can do. Especailly as Suthep has indicated that even resigning and dissolveing the house is 'not enough'.. So then what.

I think it's time for the PM to strike a deal with some of the more level headed figures in the Democrat Party. Anything that will still allow the loonies to claim some sort of victory, while the country as a whole can move on.

Well Winnie you might be on the money, discuss it fully in very simple language with the Democrats so that she fully understands the problems and then resign and dissolve the parliament. Hopefully by the 4th December, that would be a great gesture on her part.

Isn't there normally a speech on the 5th?

Yes the reason why calling it quits on the 4th would be perfect timing.

This government has been elected. Abhisit's wasn't. I remember this. You?

The red shirts wanted a dialogue in 2010, Abhisit sat down with them. They said get out, he said we will have elections in 4 months, they said get out. Hardly a constructive conversation. To hear them whining now about wanting a dialogue now, is sickening. The problem for them now is that everyone remembers how they reacted, burning, looting, bombing, storming hospitals and raising a private army, complete with their own general. How do they have any credibility now, asking for a dialogue.

This government was formed by MP's elected, just like the Abhisit government.

I remember this. You not it would seem.

This is indeed a mess. There is no chance for her to lose her position through the Parliament. They have all ready voted to a man/women that she stays. There is no chance of Suthep setting up his unelected council.

That leaves dialouge between the two of them and there is very little chance of Yingluck paying any attention to any one other than her brother so that leaves a closed door on that side, and Suthep is proposing an unconstitutional answer. That is not going to happen either.

Maybe if Yingluck was to revoke Thaksin's passport and start making an honest attempt to bring him back to Thailand do his time and face the charges against him Suthep might be a bit more reasonable. She would also have to refuse to accept the many resignations Thaksin has in his pocket. Leaving the door open for ministers to be more honest.

The protest will end sooon enough unless the antii government people lower them selves down to the level of the red shirts and start barricading off areas and arming them selves.

"It is indeed a mess" - probably the sanest thing that has been said on T.V. since the start of the current unrest.

Actually, it is bloody big mess - where it will end is anyone guess at the moment as there are only 3 possible outcomes, a win for both sides (somehow), one side wins and one side loses, both sides lose.

So it would seem both sides of the argument need to step back, take a big breath and re-evaluate what is important to Thailand, because if they don't it may well be decided for them as it was 2006.
