Why a lying piece of crap! Thaksin and his cronies have blurred the lines between the legislative and the administrative branches of the government. To say they're both seperate is an outright lie we've come to expect from this PTP government.

taksin and his cronies did not close the airports, or destroy government house or kill 90 people in the streets. Who did????? The idoit that is protesting.

I am sure you will remember that it was the AOT in November 2008 that rightfully ordered Swampy "closed' as the PAD had occupied the arrival/departure areas and forcibly entered the control tower causing chaos.

Thaksin had already fled to England in August of 2008.

Somchai returning from Peru diverted to Chiang Mai. It was under his governance that Swampy was occupied.

PAD entered and did damage to Government House as you correctly stated.

Thaksin ordered the crackdown on the drug dealers and was held responsible for 2500 + - deaths, he was also charged with the deaths of the Tak Bai and Khrue Se occupants.

The "i do it", as you refer to Suthep was not involved in any major capacity in 2008 which, I believe was your point.

There we are.

You are absolutely correct. I find it funny that Suthep is complaining now that his protesters are being tear-gased. When he was Vice-PM, he ordered soldiers to fire on and kill over 80 Thai civilians. What is he complaining about now? He acted much tougher than Yingluck.

Unfortunately, you are not absolutely correct. Suthep gave orders for the troops to use live ammunition on the red shirt protesters who were visibly armed, a well known fact. He did not "order them to fire on and kill over 80 Thai civilians"

Tragically civilians were caught in cross fire and in some cases, apparently targeted by soldiers.

90 died.

He was prepared to stand trial alongside Abhisit, had the occasion arisen, but the amnesty bill debacle complicated all that.

Your hero Thaksin, meanwghile, had directed the red Shirt offensive from his bunker in Dubai, saying " I am behind you all the way my friends"

She chaired the meeting via a teleconference with Cabinet members who gathered at the Centre for Administration of Peace and Order (CAPO), specially set up to handle the political disputes

Someone overheard the teleconference and noticed if she had a unusual soar throat by any chance .

DIFFICULT TO TAKE ANY ONE SERIOUSLY, WHO CANNOT SPELL .

This is my favorite part:

Mr Suthep’s use of force to remove the government’s administrative power is a violation of Article 113 of the Criminal Code, liable to death or life imprisonment, he said.

As most think, Suthep has comitted the worst act of treason.
Just hope he faces though judges as soon as possible thumbsup.gif

Wait for your hero Suthep to close down TV and expand the LM laws to include himself. What the heck will all the bored foreigners in Thailand do when this happens ? Play musical chairs in their favorite bar or start to write love letters to their bar girls ? There is a saying better/rather the devil you know ...... I know Thaksin's flaws and I know democracy's flaws, do you know the people that will be included in Sutheps peoples forum, who will select the forum, will he only include his people and leave out 65% of the people, do you know how they will govern the country without elections, what is Sutheps views on press freedom and freedom of speech. I say rather an imperfect democracy than Suthep's heaven.

I was seriously told by an educated Thai last week that she supported the demo because "most Thais are not educated enough to vote" I told her if that was the benchmark most of the modern world would have no democracy

Suthep will lead this country to ruin if allowed to and his pet Abhisit gains NO credibility by not 'standing tall' and denouncing it even hinting he may lead it

shame on the first for being disillusion and the second on being a shameless opportunist who will, no doubt, distance himself if the demos fail and join if they succeed

Thailand needs a true and good leader but he/she is nowhere to be found right now but Suthep is no alternative

IMHO,.. if Abhisit truly values democracy and has any intention of keeping his democratic party image intact then he needs to publicly denounce Suthep's actions IMMEDIATELY.

If he did that, not only would he be showing respect for true democracy but also would be showing true leadership for which he would stand to gain from no matter what the outcome of this fiasco ends up being.

I can't see this ending well for Suthep, in which case Abhisit would be playing a wise political card IMHO by distancing himself from Suthep now!

The problem is that whilst Mark is a decent guy overall with a solid education and great ambassordial qualities, he lacks any strategic political determination and that's one thing that strips him of any real opportunity to lead this country in any kind of powerful or meaningful way!

I don't like TS and his regime either but Suthep looks like a very precarious (wild card) alternative.

Something in between TS/PTP, Suthep, Abhisit would be good,.... Could we please have a truly benevolent dictator walk up to the strikers plate please?

Sorry but "benevolent dictator" is a contradiction in terms - history has proved there is no such thing. What is need is someone with true leadership and political ability to move up and for the country to accept democracy.

It was Winston Churchill (I think) who said "democracy is the worst political system devised by man - except for all the others"

Presumably the "Punishment" will include the red leadership of Jatuporn, Nattawat, Weng etc who have all breached their bail conditions.

Oh hang on, they are only there to protect the Government therefore have been working for the Government.

Just because their followers have shot some of the students that they are in any way responsible.

I see the evening shift of the reds has come on now, unfortunately some of them are getting the red version of history a little mixed up.

Possibly they need a refresher course at a red school.

Yes,... thank you for the clarification of the fact that there is no such thing as a "benevolent dictator". I was deliberately using sarcasm to emphasize the point,.. which in this case is that neither "Thai democracy" nor "Thai Dictatorship" will suffice in giving the people what they really need which is true leadership.

And of course I am aware that the rest of world also struggles for leadership that is focused on leading rather than dominating but at least some semblance of order and system here would be a vast improvement to the current lineup of candidates and the various groups with their selfish ulterior motives!
