Chances of getting a police clearance next week

Hi all. Flying into BKK next week and hope to try to get the police clearance done at the headquarters. Wondering if the protests have shut this service down. Any insights from people in the area would be most appreciated.

What's the purpose of the police clearance?

I assume you want this for teaching.

I don't think they do a quick service. I submitted mine over a month ago and was given a date to collect it in person: 9th December - over 1 month later. Try going to police HQ in Patumwan. building 25. You'll need to take a Thai speaker with you, as part of the application form has to be completed in Thai. I also had to produce a letter from my employer. I'm afraid this doesn't sound too positive.

Try this link http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/root/pdfs/thaipoliceapr09.pdf or Google Police clearance Certificate, Bangkok. It gives you all the gen you need. The only bit that's incorrect is the bit that says the service is free. In fact it cost 100 Baht.
