i am changeing my extension [jan] from marriage to retirement,i have been given 4 forms.

[1] documents required when requesting extension of stay.

[2] tm7 application form.

[3]this is all in thai, what the wife has told me most of it is answered on the tm7 except it wants to know about my pensions, state and any private plus the amounts and what if any savings i have in thailand.

[4]again as on the tm7 form it wants to know my purpose for the extension.then on the bottom of page 4 it wants me to sign.acknowledging the conditions for my permitted continuation of stay.this is in english.

i do go down the road of ex.amount of money in the bank which is more than the amount required, which is never touched at all.

it also says that who-ever translate's the forms for me that they have to sign.

whats it all about please?and there's me thinking its easyer than the marriage route.

You will need the original letter from your government and other, private pensions providers stating that you are receiving a pension starting on dd/mm/yy.

quote.... purpose for the extension.... /quote

Retirement

quote... sign.acknowledging the conditions for my permitted continuation of stay...../quote

90day reporting or/and notifying change of address

That should be good. You will need a letter from your bank and your bankbook all up-to-date -- or you can use the income method ;)

The officer at the office that I use fills in the forms every year. I verify that the information, which is in English, is correct. I sign the forms and my wife, who usually is with me signs them also. With my limited understanding of written Thai I would agree with what your wife says in post #1, they are redundant questions of those on the TM7 form and also some additional info and statements.

The additional form mentioned in (4) is required for all extensions.

I've never been asked for any form other than the standard TM7 for any of my 4 retirement extension applications to date!
