Yingluck picked No 1 party list candidate

Can't believe some people are complaining and moaning about Yingluck being on the ballot.

The entire country has to put up with the nutcase Suthep for months.

It would be helpful if you could not only spread this one-line messages agitation.

Attempt to reflect more.

That would be helpfull.

Thx.

whistling.gif Of course she is picked as head flunky again.

Big brother directed it.

Like the "Godfather" in a Mafia family he selects his local boses to do his dirty work.

That's exactly what I meant in another post when I said that the real problem in Thai politics is the party system.

It's exactly like a Maifia family .... with the Don behind the scenes controlling the "party" for his own benefit.

That is called "democracy" in Thailand.

Whether it is the government or the opposition, it's all a self-serving group of corrupt politicians ... just like a Mafia "fami;y'.

I wonder how many PTP MPs will be off to Dubai for some heavy duty brown-nosing before the rest of the party list is announced.

Will Jatuporn and Arisman get a seat with the other red criminals? If Arisman is in, will Mrs A get the big A? Have we seen the last of Chalerm?

This is nothing more than a YL/PTP fall back position that they will also soon fall back from.

Just like, the dissolve, not dissolve, and then dissolve again parliament.

Like the barricades, no barricades, barricades and then evacuation of government buildings.

I assume the vast majority of posters here are from western style democracies. Yet I find it odd that some here have no problem with Thailand being run by a criminal fugitive. I wonder if they would be fine with this type of government in their home countries?

Of course they wouldn't, but it would be no surprise that a lot of them live in Nakhon Nowhere and the 500 baht payment to their wife for the vote is a boost to their income., or they have some sick attraction to Thaksin in a dress.

"Party spokesman Prompong Nopparit said Monday that the party picked Ms Yingluck as the candidate for the next prime minister because she had shown the leadership in protecting democracy and the safety of the people during the course of the anti-government protests."

Well thats an interesting statement.

Thailand has an electoral commision that would claim its task is protecting democracy.

"The primary role of the Commission is ensure that that elections carried out in the Kingdom of Thailand is lawful and compatible with the Constitution. It is also in charge of enforcing National election laws covering: House of Representatives, Senate, Districts, Referendums, Bangkok Gubernatorial elections and Political parties. Its constitutional duty includes the publishing and all election returns, therefore formalizing them. The Commissioners also have the right to disqualify a candidate, or call for a re-count for a particular seat.

Its responsibilities include the organization, management and counting of all elections and voting in the Kingdom, all procedures and staff will also be under the Commission's administration. Other roles are to advise and suggest to the National Assembly future policies concerning elections and suffrage. The Commission also have legal power as a law enforcement agency to investigate and indict those who break election laws through: bribery, corruption, vote buying and blackmail. The Commission also has powers to investigate the finances and donor lists of all political parties. Other responsibilities include: to educate the public about elections and the importance of them." [Wiki]

Not much evidence of that.......coffee1.gif

This is an incredibly inflamatory step. I'm not buying into right or wrong of Thai politics but making this statement, at this time, is either really dumb or really provocative. Wonder which one it is?

Is it? Now the Thai electorate know from the start the choice they have. Pheu Thai, with Yingluck Shinawatra (you may recoil in horror) as candidate for Prime Minister (if elected) or um er ... possibly Abhisit, if the Democrats don't try and ferment a coup by boycotting the election, or possibly an appointed government for an indeterminate (probably very long) term. The latter will of course all be excellent blokes because they will have been chosen by Suthep and whoever it is who is financing him.

One side has been pretty open so far. They have told everyone where they stand. The others- well, it is a power grab in progress.

Sent from my GT-I9300 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Yes, it is an incredibly inflammatory step. The protesters are protesting against the Shinawatra clan, and what happens? An election is called and Yingluck is placed as No.1 on the party list. How can that do anything but inflame the protesters?

I plan on moving up to Isaan in a few years. Maybe I'll end up running around wearing a red T shirt, Thaksin mask, waving a couple free plastic clappers wildly in the air while waiting for my wife to get her meager vote payoff from the man in Dubai, so I can buy some Lao Khao in a plastic bag with a straw.

So it's vote for PTP, get Yingluck back. Perhaps it says something that my wife, who's never bothered to vote, is now eagerly awaiting the elections to vote against her. She's got no clue who to vote for, though, but as long it's not one of the Shinas. Makes me wonder how many think alike.

obviously not to many as the majority of Thai's outside of bangkok still prefer her to the nut job leading the protesters!

Not to worry she has had a practice run at PM I am sure she will do better this next time and it will be at least another two years before the protesters need to dust down the weapons and take to the streets again.

the irony is strada was rambling how much the yellow fan were polite, open mind, etc etc, in another thread i was just reading now:   http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/687662-suthep-rejects-house-dissolution/page-4#entry7141130

The Yellow Shirt Label - most of the reasoned, thoughtful news posters are well informed, polite, and welcome open and honest discourse

and you talk about doing her Posted Image some might suffer from personality disorder or i dont get itPosted Image

ps: how low can they go?Posted Image

Lol - so many problems with this

1 - she is cute and i like her, how does that make me a "yellow"

2 - don't put words in my mouth. I never said anything about yellow shirts being anything. The world is not black and white. Or in your case red and yellow.

Lucky it's not a choice between those two then.

The other side is ran by a nutjob who is currently on trial for the murder of over 80 Thai civilians, for a 140+ Rai land corruption case where he transferred state land in Koh Samui to rich families and family members.

Oh, and he's also the biggest flip flop in world history.

- i will stop when the amnesty bill is dropped.

- i will stop when the government resigns.

- i will stop when new elections are held.

- oh wait I don't want new elections, want my people's council to rule Thailand

- i want to dissolve the Royal Thai Police and replace it with my own people's guard.

- i don't accept the new election date that was announced by Royal decree.

Can you guess his name?

Yingluck has kept all her promises. She has dissolved the house and called for new elections which is what normal countries do.

Everyone rooting for the nutjob is out of his mind.

Actually, the protests are led by "a nutjob who is currently on trial for the murder of over 80 Thai civilians, for a 140+ Rai land corruption case where he transferred state land in Koh Samui to rich families and family members."

He won't be standing in the elections.

I wonder how long "Dubai is calling" once the Southerners question the caller's hosts and their friendly neighbours to dig into the "Tak Bai". Montenegro has not seen much more than a hotel sold and might query its passport-for-investment-policies.
But then again, what do we know ………

why the comment that she is picked number 1 by a phone call from Dubai? Is someone monitoring phone calls or is this just hate speaking again with no proof? In modern democracies a person could be sued for unsubstantiated statements like this. I also intensley dislike the comments that she is STUPID - those who subscribe to this are unaware that she wA dux IN HER YEAR AT CHIANG MAI UNIVERSITY - THAT WAS TOLD TO ME PERSONALLY BY A STUDENT FROM HER CLASS.

Why so much HATE towards her?

Can you imagine what would happen if her brother came back and was put in a prison? Millions would come and break down the prison walls - only 100,000 (allegedly) out of 14 million showed up yesterday for ANOTHER false statement that things would end. How many times has the date changed and changed? I don't believe that ALL votes are bought by PTP - that is another FALSE accusation by ill informed hateful people.

I love the King, I love Thailand and have been so happy to have lived here since 1995clap2.gif

Whe I read the first few words of your first sentence, I thought you were describing Thaksin's war on drugs and the sweet land deal he got for his wife in Ratchadapisek.

Ohh and I have some news for you. Yingluck isn't making or keeping any promises. She doesn't use the toilet with out big brother's permission.

So now we have officially two crazy greedy at head of both sides.

I truly suggest to stay away from the protest sites, something will go wrong surely.

It always goes wrong when you put a lighter close to a gasoline tank.

It will only go wrong when the government decides it wants it to go wrong and sends in the storm troopers...

Just wait for Suthep's guards trying to replace Police. That would be nasty...

Are you familiar with the Take Bai atrocity under Thaksin's regime, to take a single example? You really should look it up.

An atrocity that Thaksin explained away in a doorstop interview as "they died because their bodies were weak from fasting".

That's who you are supporting.

Would PTP win an election if Yingluck and Thaksin weren't involved?

That's an interesting question. I think PTP would cease to exist without Thaksin.
