Wife Can't Attend Immigration Centre.

Featured Replies

Hi all, A few days ago my wife was diagnosed with osteo problems, she is bedridden and in great pain., there's no way she can leave our home. I need to reapply for a Non O marriage visa by the weekend. Can I reapply for my visa without my wife in attendance, This will be my 9th marriage visa all the details are the same including with my wife, address etc. Thanks.

I think you are asking about getting an extension of stay at immigration not a visa.

I think arrangements could be made if had a letter from your wife's doctor stating she was able to travel to immigration. You need to contact your local immigration office to see what can be done.

Thanks Joe, your reply was very much appreciated. I've noticed that Changwattana is supposed to reopen on Monday next December 16. That being the case whats the minimum time between the date I should apply till the actual expiry date of the previous year, I can get my wife to Changwattana with the aid of her daughter and the CW office is well organized for people such as my wife, whereas Imperial World is probably pushing and shoving bordering on chaos.

Thanks again mate.

You can apply for your new extension on the date old one runs out if you want to. There is no minimum.

Thanks again Joe, that being the case I will take my wife to Changwattana next Monday Dec 16, let's hope it's reopened by then. Footage of the Changwattana office on TV before didn't look to promising but then again it may've been set up for TV the old spin machine back in motion again. My extension of stay expires on January 05 next year, so if I go on Monday that would give me 20 days, I always thought it was minimum 21 days. If only Immigration had daily updates on their website, it would us help us and in return make their jobs a lot easier. Thanks again. Ray.

The 21 days was to do a conversion to non immigrant visa and that is now 15 days.

Immigration has announced that they will be open again at CW on the 16th. But as said, you have time to wait till the 5th of Jan.

Can you change a Non-Imm O (marriage to a Thai) which requires 90 day exits to an extension where you only need to report to your local office?

Can have 400k in a Thai bank no probs and have at least 6 months to run on current visa.

I enjoy going to different places every few months, it is a good excuse !!! But some times the dates are very inconvenient.

You can apply for an extension of stay based upon marriage during the last 30 days of any of your 90 day entries. The 400k baht must be in the bank for at least 60 days on the date you apply.
