Drug users and suspected dealers caught by Police in East Pattaya

PATTAYA:--Nongprue Police, who are responsible for most of the Eastern side of Pattaya, commonly known as “The Darkside”, are warning those who use and sell narcotics that they are stepping up patrols and checkpoints in a bid to significantly reduce the illegal drug activity taking place there.

As a result of checks made by Police in the early hours of Tuesday, Nongprue Police arrested four people, two who failed presumptive drug tests and two others who were caught with class 1 drugs and are suspected of consuming and selling on the drugs to others.

Khun Egarat aged 27 was caught with two bags of Crystal Methamphetamine weighing a total of 2.2g which the suspect claimed to have purchased for 2,000 Baht. He stated that a portion of the drugs were intended for personal consumption and the rest would be sold-on to fund his next purchase of the class 1 drug.
