The few f-rangs who do get Thai citizenship tend to be the more very long term stayers, but there is indeed of course no direct connection. Briggsy Posted December 12, 2013 Share Posted December 12, 2013 I rather imagine this is a "Chinese Whispers" thing that started out as somebody relating to a Thai friend that very long-term overstayers in most European countries are allowed to stay permanently under various amnesty conventions.
