Marcel1
Last year I got my first Thai driver license for the car and motorbike on the 1st of November. The first ones are valid for one year but today however, I found out that I forgot it. what is the best way to solve it and what do I need to do to extend it? do I have to go to the office in the morning or can I go anytime? I am in Bangkok. thanks for the advice
meechai
Your ok Here you let the one year expire. Then go in Take a color test & reaction time test & get a 5 year license Take the same things you took last time Passport Doctors paper ( 100 baht anywhere) Proof of address cert. ( Immigration free or your consulate which is fast but costs ) Your expired Thai licenses You will need some copies of certain pages of your passport but they do them there for a few baht Time is anytime they are open Edited December 14, 2013 by meechai

MadMac
I got my expired 1 year license renewed into a 5 year one after more than one year, as I was not in the country. As so many things, it's up to the daily form, the weather and if he likes you or not. No hard rules.

Gsxrnz
Yeah, I think officially you can drive for one month past expiry without getting a fine. As to the renewal process, it's probably up to the staff you deal with......smile a lot.
