We are strict budget travelling seniors. Need authoritative confirmation on land based entry periods. If we do the visa run to Mae Sai will our passports be stamped for 15 or 30 days.? Hear that Canadians now get 30 dsys?

Secondly, is the talk of charging 500 thb every time one enters by sea land or air, starting in mid Jan 2014 a non issue; just talk? Or is it possible before Mar?

We spend 43 days and a 60 day visa costs us $55 each all costs like photos, 2 round trip transport etc. We love taking the one day out of town tours thst include Mae Sai where we get a new entry allowance. It seems a better way for the local economy too. We just need to be up to-date with the rules.
