Sawadee krap,

Is it possible to give extra personnal courses to students ?

I can teach french ( my native language ) but I dont have the ability/degree to teach in schools, so teaching and helping students in extra courses could be a solution.

It would be personnal courses or to a little group of students. I would perfom the courses directly at student accomodation or in somewhere suitable.

Of course I know this would not be enough to make a salary, but at least it can help.

Do I need special autorisation for that ?

Do I have to register somewhere ?

Thanks for your advices.

Private tutoring by laws requires that you have a work permit. There are plenty of people who do it without the correct work permit, however they are breaking the law. You might want to contact Alliance Francaise or some other French organization about the need for such tuition.

Thanks for the answer. Regarding the work permit, I'm married to a thai so it shouldn't be a problem.. i hope.

That makes absolutely no difference, except for the need to only employee 2 Thai staff instead of 4, if you register a Thai company and need to extend your visa based on your business/employment.

Good luck in finding a legal solution

Ok, sorry for the ignorant question but Can I have my own business and be the only worker, without an employee ? My wife could own parts in the business anyway.

Might be naive question but I m just start to think of make a business cause it seem hard for me to find a job ( i got experience but no bachelor degree ).

I don't think that you'll be able to start a legal business, such as a language/ tutoring school in Thailand. Even if you'd have enough cash to do so, you'd have to have a Masters, or somebody involved.

Another problem might be that the demand of students who like to study your mother tongue isn't really that high.

Even if you would find some students and tutor them in your own four walls, you could easily upset somebody else, who's doing the same job, but legally.

And you can't stop what people like to do best. Talking about others. Especially when you're a foreigner.

A fellow country man of yours in Sisaket is making/selling baguettes right at the market, but he could easily upset the other shop owners.-wai2.gif
