Following up on this thread from long ago. I bought the Paper White at Central near Chitdlom and it's fantastic. The price was a little higher, but one of the best purchases I've made, and beats reading on a digital screen with the glare. Plus, all kinds of books instantly available. It gets my glowing review.

somebody raised the question of buying a kindle in saudi? amazon won't deliver them to a saudi address along with other electronic goods, apparently...

I have a workmate that went home to the UK on leave and had amazon deliver to his house and he brought it back to the office in Jeddah on return...

Not the same as mentioned earlier. Much harder on the eyes for prolonged reading and much shorter battery life.
