Thai work tools , poor quality and good quality

Featured Replies

I like to do a lot of things on my own. I like to tinker around and fix things and build things around my place.

I have learned that the power drill at the local market or Thai drill is not worth the box it comes in.

I buy Bosch or dewalt power tools , and have brought many hand tools from Canada

A few items I have in my tool collection that many small thai contractors don't have is 3 levels ( different

lengths) different size squares, plumb bobs , line levels I am equipped to do many jobs around my house

It is like a hobby for me it is relaxing and personal satisfaction to build things

I prefer quality over price when it come to my tools.

My question do other posters do a lot of there repairs and tinker around ?

MacTec is a Thai brand of Makita. They seem to be good tools.

You'd be surprised by the number of things Thai workers can do with an axe, hammer drill, hammer and a couple of screwdrivers. Really. They seem to get by with the minimum of tools in their box.

I also enjoy doing my own work around our house. I've also learned the hard way just how poorly equipped Thai workers are which goes hand in hand with their lack of skills. The next time you see a Thai worker cutting floor/wall tiles with a dry diamond side cutter ask him if he knows what a wet saw is used for. I guarantee you that most will just stare at you and continue their old way of doing things.

It's the same the world over, you get what you pay for.

Of course they can, but the result is well visible later on.
