BANGKOK: -- Several hundred of protesters in dozens of trucks led by the People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) today headed for the residence of the caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Soi Yothinpattana 3 late today to demand her immediate resignation.

By press time at 11.00 a.m. they have arrived near the PM’s residence where a large group of anti-riot police are keeping guard.

Ms Yingluck is not in the house as she has already flown to Chiang Mai to stay with her family.

Protesters led by academics Seri Wongmontha planned to read a statement to denounce what they called her stubbornness to stick to the job.

They earlier rejected Ms Yingluck’s national reform council saying it would be only a puppet council without real power.

They demanded that Ms Yingluck must resign immediately.
