Pattaya to Khanchanburi

I fancy a visit to and overnight stay in Kanchanburi next week.

Is it best to go wiith a tour group or to make your own way.

I will be going on my own and with single room supplements the tour operators seem to be asking more than what I would say is reasonable.

I noticed a double decker tour bus on Sukhumvit with Rayong to Khanchanburi on the side of it.

Does anyone know if it stops anywhere in Pattaya?

I'm not a big fan of tour groups, but they do work for some people. Just depends on your individual preferences. Independent travel does require planning on your part, and patience when that transport option you were told about never shows up! 55555

I found this on the internet:

Seems you have 2 options. Direct bus service or change buses at the Southern Bus terminal. Either way, it's a pretty easy trip. Sounds like you should allocate about 5-6 hours.

Lots of lodging options once you get there. And pretty much every hotel/guesthouse will have tour packages for you.

Hope that helps!

I spent a few days in the national parks north of Kanchanaburi last year. Beautiful countryside, well worth a visit.

Erawan Falls 100 Km (?) out of Khanchanburi is really worth the trip, an absolute marvel with 7 different waterfall levels and wildlife. Just don't go on the weekend when the Thais aren't working.. I went on a Sunday a few weeks back. I thought it was free vodka day, loaded with Russians. Like Disney land on the 4th of July.

My favorite sign in Thailand is there.
