Commerce Ministry expects to generate income of US$1,000 million from THAIFEX food exhibition

The Ministry of Commerce is looking at generating income of US$1,000 million from THAIFEX- food exhibition. The ministry aims to put THAIFEX on the international arena.

Deputy Commerce Minister Preecha Laohapongchana (ปรีชา เลาหพงศ์ชนะ) presided over the opening of THAIFEX - World of Food Asia 2006 at the IMPACT Trade Exhibition Centre in Muang Thong Thani.

The ministry expects the numbers of both local and international visitors to increase from last year’s by 25 percent and expect the numbers of visitors to rise by 40 percent next year.

He said that products from many suppliers will be promoted in the exhibition. Moreover, the ministry is hoping that the “Kitchen to the World” exhibition will be made known internationally.
