On the previous two occasions when I renewed my Non-imm O visa my wife accompanied me. This year it is not convenient. Do I have to bring her or is her appearance optional?

Otherwise (based on retirement) for proof of address (assuming you have no yellow housebook):

Bring her ID card and housebook (originals) plus copies.

ID card copy: both sides on one sheet of paper.

Blue book copy: first page and page with her details on one sheet of paper.

Both copies signed by her! (important)

Surely on marriage.

Not every retiree has a Thai wife smile.png

I am married to a Thai but use retirement.

The only relevance of the marriage/wife for my extension is the proof of address.

In the meantime I have a yellow book, so that there is no more need to involve my wife.

The topic starter will hopefully come back to clarify.

Pretty confusing thread. OP implies an extension in his title and then says he is renewing in the body of his text.

Different answers then provided according to how respondents have interpreted the OP's question.

Renewing a non-O is done out of country and does not require the attendance of wife (or housebooks as far as I recall - just copy of her ID card). But I think it may vary slightly, depending on which consulate you would be renewing the non-O at.

Sorry about the confusion. Did not realize there is a difference between extending and renewing. I will be extending my non-imm O on the basis of marriage and will do it at Chaeng Wattana.

So, I gather that my wife has to go with me.

But proving address is not a normal concern at Chiang Watanna - have never been asked for any such documentation in a decade of extension renewals - my file has original proof and it has not changed. And now doing for retirement but have Thai wife which original extensions was for.
