my au pair

I am busy doing our visas for my kids and I to stay in Thailand for a long period.

I am bringing my au pair and applying for his visa too.

Since one is not allowed to work in thailand,,and he works for me, how do I fill in the form.

It asks you to sign that you are strictly on holiday and do not intend to work in any way.

But indeed he works for me..paid a salary back in my home country.

But it won't be in your own country. He can work here illegally if you keep quiet.

It sounds as if you are all tourists here and are here for no other reason, so no you or here can't have work permits or business visas.

Just keep quiet as all the interent workers do here. Nobody really cares unless you really pee someone off.

One suspects he will not be issued a visa on the basis of being your au pair, and must therefore apply for the visa and get one on the basis of being a tourist, he will be technically working illegally, where one gets paid or even if you don't get paid has no bearing on needing a WP

Easy answer while in thailand he is your bf, and don't need to say any more

I know all sorts of people get away with "bending the law" on these matters, but take care because if you are found out, you could be kicked out. Best to do everything the RIGHT way. Suggest you contact the Thai Embassy or Consulate in your home country and get the CORRECT advice.

Actually, this is quite simple.An au pair is supposed to attend language school, so you can sign yours up for one and he/she will qualify for an education visa.
There's no bending of any laws at all.
The `work,' enacted in your home, becomes a quid-pro-quo for board and keep while the money that you pay him/her in your home country is irrelevant as it's not transacted here.
Take care that any employment contract you have with your helper doesn't refer to any work in Thailand or you may find yourself compromised shd there be a falling out between you and that person. That risk was was highlighted recently with the recent arrest in NY of the Indian diplomat Devyani Khobragade for doing what hundreds of expats around the world do routinely to enable their domestic workers to accompany them.

Don't bring an au pair from abroad, hire a new locally. Save's you all the trouble and probably much cheaper. Kids will get used to a new au pair in no time. Some more advantages are you and your kids can learn some Thai

Few options. A. Can bring him as tourist and let him be Au Pair silently or simply get a new one here which of course makes more sense since you intend to stay for a longer period.

Let me understand, you have an Au Pair in your home country. That is, you have a student from another country that is living with your family while studying in your country and in exchange does some housework and childcare. How could she accompany you to Thailand and still meet the Au pair requirements? Perhaps you mean you have a live in servant that you wish to bring with you. In that case, the rules are different and your maid would normally only be legally allowed to accompany you if you or your spouse are diplomats. A foreign domestic worker is unlikely to be granted legal work status in Thailand.

Is this an Au Pair, or is this really just a common-law/defacto partner who you are trying to dress up as an Au-Pair?

If the latter, is the defato partner a biological parent of the child? If yes, there maybe visa options for the parent who is looking after a child attending school here in Thailand.

A local Au Pair will know her/his way around and can certainly do all your local market shopping.
