Lite Beer
Pheu Thai asks CSD to act against Bangkok governor The Pheu Thai party will ask the Crime Suppression Division police to take legal action against Bangkok Governor M.R. Sukhumbhand Paribatra for supporting the protest led by the People’s Democratic Reform Committee. Pheu Thai party spokesman Prompong Nopparit accused the Bangkok governor of supporting the insurrection by providing equipment and materials such as sand bags to PDRC.He said that the party would also ask the Constitution Court to rule the PDRC and its secretary-general Suthep Thaugsuban guilty of violating Article 68 of the Constitution for attempting to overthrow democratic system. He accused the PDRC and the Democrat party as one single entity citing the presence of Democrat party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva and Chuan Leekpai, the party’s advisory chairman, at the protest sites on the day when the PDRC launched Operation Bangkok Shutdown. Popular Post pipkins
At the very very least, if he says they are not supplying it, it's failure to report crimes. What happened with the bin wagons and firefighting equipment and bulldozers they had access to..? Any police report filed? One of the good things to come from sitting this out is it becomes clearer by the minute just how much collusion there is between Democrat Party [sic] PDRC, the Retired Generals just outed today on another thread here http://news.asiaone.com/news/asia/2-powerful-retired-generals-behind-suthep... along with the Courts with their blatant disregard for anything other than preserving their own clique at any costs. Don't these old boys realise that everybody is onto their 1960's style putch. There is freedom of information and cameras everywhere now. The more they talk the more they dig themselves in. Yingluck has done a fantastic job with all the powers of state acting against her. She's still there and more and more people are supporting her version of events. Well done to the Coup Plotters and their treacherous allies in exposing themselves to the world.

Popular Post MikeOboe57
The Appeals Court on Thursday [12 Dec 2013] sentenced Pheu Thai party spokesman Prompong Nopparit and another Pheu Thai member to one-year imprisonment without suspension after finding them guilty of defaming the former president of the Constitution Court. Shouldn´t he be in the slammer by now?

That a political party can afford this, to have such people on board. I hope the Governor of Bangkok will fill charges agains him for libel. How can a caretaker government accept it, that this convicted criminal speaks in their name. Twice sentenced, why he gets again granted bail? He is malicious agitator, a rabble-rouser who can offend all people with impunity. The immunity of politicians must be abolished. Consequences for one's own actions must be prosecuted.

Popular Post Tatsujin
This gets funnier and funnier by the minute and once again shows how much respect Pheu Thaksin has for the law. Prompong himself should already be in jail. But I guess his extenuating circumstances are he's too busy being a spokesman to go to jail for something he's already been convicted of. Rather like his boss. Edited January 14, 2014 by Tatsujin

'which against are corruption or crime cases opened' Is this some kind of word game? Sorry for my bad English. Just wanted to make it clear. When you hear “crime case” may not everybody think about, that it means also corruption as a crime (in this country). The policeman who take 200 baht from a motorcycle driver, do not think he did a crime or is a criminal. In his self-understanding he is helpful. He give a discount and save the offender time and trouble. Also with politicians. They paid/invest a lot of money to came in power. The proportion on public projects which he then puts in his on pockets, is then there return on investment. For them it is more a "fair share", then corruption as a crime. Low consciousness of injustice.
Popular Post Scamper
What is the gist of this ? Thaksin never, ever changes. Now he's going after everyone. He's going after the Bangkok governor ( for providing sandbags ! ) Send the DSI in. He's going after Abhisit for attending a walk yesterday ( along with hundreds of thousands of other supposedly free Thai people ) in support of the movement against corruption and for reform. Horrors ! The Constitution Court ( as people will recall, Thaksin's favourite institution ) - well, they've got Prompong's marching orders as well, it seems. The PDRC ( and presumably all the people on the streets ) are expressing their freedom of expression - in public ! Of course, he forgets that the Constitution Court is considering the viability of the Pheu Thai party itself, in relation to the charter amendment, an amendment the Constitution Court has already found unconstitutional ! Oh well. Another detail for Prompong to mull over. And Prompong himself was convicted recently and is supposed to be now serving a year in jail. For some reason, though, he didn't mention that today. Doubtless it slipped his mind. A curious footnote - Prompong has been cropping up on TV for years. Does this man ever, ever smile ?
Popular Post Misterwhisper
Every time a PTP-government member opens their mouth, out comes a bizarre statement that makes them seem like they had escaped from an asylum for the insane. Perhaps they should think of finally recruiting people from their voters' base - the farmers - into their ranks just to raise the average IQ. If I remember right, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration had also supplied mobile toilets, drinking water and even blankets to the Red Mob of 2010 - with no thanks, of course, and disregarding the fact that the Reds tapped into the city's power and tap water supply for free for months on end. Why didn't PTP complain back then?

What about the legal action against the "Friends of Thaksin" that threatened to kidnap the Generals twin daughters? I thought that democracy meant "the right to equal protection under law"…According to the PTP that one does not count because they won elections. I pity the gullible.

Mampara
Well in the long run the Phew Thai isn't as popular as they once thought they were, by the time this is all finished they will only have about 10% of their members that are dedicated left, with all the warrants of arrests been issued, the firing of their personnel, and desertions there may only be a handful left. my, my, what are they going to do?

All very good, but it requires a legal system that is just. I would assume that 'adjusting' the legal system (laws and courts) is part of the REFORMS, together with throwing out the parliament. If not it, it will not work. If it is, I will get nervous by the power vested in Suthep's 'good men'. "Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely". Thaksin is probably a good example, but there is no need to repeat.
