No problem, just might not get quite the same rate as you would selling it to the Thai shop where you bought them.

Try asking for USD, almost as portable and no risk of losing any percentage value.

Otherwise this is the place in VN: http://sjc.com.vn/?n=1

Why don't you sell them in Thailand before you go to Vietnam?

its like 70k worth, I dont trust the ex, the banks, the govt, I wont be selling for years

I just wanna move to vietnam, but if I have to sell I dont wanna come all the way back to thailand

baht or dollars?

Actually in either case not a big deal, who says you have to trust anyone?

Not as if the cash (USD hundreds) doesn't take up much room, find a safe deposit box on the QT in Vietnam.

Hiding the gold is the same isn't?

the cash equivalent was a complete night mare, the gold is extremely small relatively

looking at 70k worth of 1000b notes just makes me so uneasy especially with a falling thai baht due to all the unrest in bkk

by trust I mean who the hell knows what is going to happen tomorrow suthep wants an unelected coucil, they already r disrupting the rice to china, who know what else they may do...

If you're talking about 70K in THB that's absolutely nothing.

But even if it's dollars, I've traveled with 120K USD and it fit into a small zip case the size of a small hardback book.

Not hard to get hundreds in BKK, and you'll get the best price for your gold AND not take a hit on changing baht in Vietnam.

yeah point taken, I already bought gold so I dont wanna change it back into notes, I think gold is cheap now, I was thinking of just buying a 450cc motor bike and riding to qt.. with the gold and cash and living in qt for a while

QT?

Adrian Cronauer: Excuse me, sir. Seeing as how the V.P. is such a V.I.P., shouldn't we keep the P.C. on the Q.T.? 'Cause if it leaks to the V.C. he could end up M.I.A., and then we'd all be put out in K.P.

-- Good Morning Vietnam

Do Thailand, Vietnam and the countries in between even allow people to just drive vehicles across the border without filling out a gajillion forms months in advance? Thought that was only allowed for NGOs and such.
