I am in Thailand on a double entry 60 day tourist visa, I extended my first 60 days to 90 and now need to leave to activate the 2nd entry.

i am in krabi and looking at doing the basic visa run to Malaysia in a day but staff I have spoken to cannot be sure this is ok for my re entry they only know this is commonly done for the normal 30 days all British people get on entry.

I am wondering if I need to go to Kl or at least somewhere with a Thai embassy rather than simply cross and come back in the country....

Any information would be appreciated

You can cross the border to Malaysia and return within minutes to get your new 60 day entry (not an extension) without any problem as long as it is before the enter before date on your visa.

If you have a 60 day entry obtained from a tourist visa you can get a 30 day extension at immigration (1900 baht).

You must be writing about a 30 day visa exempt entry. There are no 30 day tourist visas.

The longest extension you can apply for is 7 days.
