Merchant facility with a Thai bank

Featured Replies

Anybody have any experience with a direct merchant facility with any of the Thai banks ?

Thinking Bangkok Bank, Kasikorn and the military one whats it called again ?

But welcome feedback on any of them.

Siam Commercial Bank is friendly for SMEs.

But credit card processing requires ALL the I's dotted and T's crossed, then operating for a fair bit of time, particularly if a foreigner is involved in the business.

The Thai partners should be well established in the industry with good reputations, in which case they can take the lead in opening doors with their existing connections.

Not at all the sort of thing to try with your usual nominee shell game scam setups advised by the typical attorney, unless you've got LOTS of dosh to back things up.

With so many gateways available why go through the hassle ?

(TMB is the military bank)

^^ because those gateways have their own issues and mind of their own many times.....it is always preferable to control your own destiny...taking out one loop, the 3rd party processor....just helps that theory out.

Heard horror stories about thaiepay

Only worth doing if you are going to be running a real high-revenue operation.

Totally impractical if not impossible in Thailand if you're talking about a small startup one-man show without very deep pockets.
