Are there any local hangouts for native Spanish speakers?

Featured Replies

Going about town, I have noticed many places (restaurants and bars mostly) which are clearly hangouts for native speakers of various languages. Russian, French, Italian, Cockneyrolleyes.gif , Hebrew, Swedish ... you name it.

Well, now I'm naming it.

I haven't really noticed any place like that with SPANISH speakers.

Are there any such places?

I assume if there are, the people would largely be from Spain rather than Latin America.

Anyway, there's my question.

There's a Tapas bar on Suk Soi 11. Turn left at Cheap Charlie's bar and it's just around the corner.

Mainly Andalucian menu I seem to remember.

I would be surprised if there is such a hangout locally but thought I'd ask anyway. I've become interested in learning more Spanish so looking for a place to practice a little.

Right, but it's in Bangkok!

Oops, didn't notice the Pattaya forum at the top.

Consult Dr Google?

Good Morning,

The chef is half Spanish half English at the moment his parents are over on holiday so if you are quick you can practice to your heart's content.

And I for one eagerly await JT's baht bus report for that trip!

No good for JT.........he speaks English.

Go to Tequila Reef.

Order Cervasa Por Favor

Marguaritas

Tequila Padron

or any type of real Mexican Tequila there (maybe they even have Mescal)

Taco's, Burrito's, Enchelada's, and most Baja style dishes.

Unfortunately this and the place next to the old Blue Parrot are about the only real mexican style food in Pattaya.

As for Spanish Habla Espaniol........... Natha I think

Tequila Reef "Mexican" doesn't impress (putting it politely). Wasn't aware of a new place near the Old BP which also didn't impress. Look nice of people to try but I was looking for a hangout with a critical mass of Spanish speaking people not a lot place to get some tapas, etc. I didn't think such a place exists and now I still don't. Oh well.

In case it's not clear go to The Place restaurant on Soi Beukow and listen to the crowd there chatting in Hebrew. That kind of place but Spanish.
