well lets face it, how many of us use the rail link at the existing one?

Anyway, they promise that the rail link to the airport will be open soon

err soonish

err sometime this decade, possibly

err about 3 weeks after the airport opens :o

The upright on the rail link are already mostly in place ....

no one uses the one to Don Muang since it is across the highway and uses shit for old cars

I suppose I am one of the few that regularly use the currrent rail service to/from Don Muang. It's not that difficult getting to the railway station as there is a footbridge directly from the airport across the highway to the station. The rail cars are not all that nice but for five to ten baht, it's hard to complain too much.

The real problem for me with the existing rail link is that the trains servicing Don Muang station are merely the normal SRT trains that run on the North and North-East lines. If a train happens to be passing by the station when you need one, great. If not, it could be a couple hours before the next train passes thru, especially in the early afternoon.

Frequency of service should not be a problem with the rail link at Suvarnabhumi airport though as that new line should operate with dedicated trains. I'd be willing to bet that the price will also be a few satang more than five to ten baht! :o

I'll see that bet and raise you that it won't be operating late at night when flights from the USA tend to arrive :o

No takers as I figured that was a given. :D

a rail link IS under construction, anyone taking the train out to ChaChoegSao should have seen it. Final station in BKk at Makkasan=just north of WTC/Pratunam.

Will not be ready when airport opens, but perhaps, if that delays again, who knows.

likesame same in KUL/southdown mlay: a deddicated, HIGHpriced, speedy electric raillink, running ev 20/30 mins, at times when aircarft arrives/leaves.
