I have a friend coming over with his family for a holiday and his 9 year old is a keen Thai-boxer apparently...

Where would a good place to take him to look and try be?

Hi, just a guess but you might try Fairtex located on North Pattaya Road just up from Best Supermarket and the Dolphin Round-about. They have a variety of sports activities and facilities including boxing ring, etc.

No stuctured youth coaching here. Not like UK where there are lots of recreational sporting clubs for all sports and the development and welfare of the young is paramount. Here its a way of life, the kids are paid/pro's from infant's, often they are the breadwinners of the family. Money Number one.

Go see Tony Ryan at Sitpholek gym on Sukhumvit near the orphanage. Great teacher and very handsome too although my eyes are very bad...
