If you are working outside Thailand and being paid by a Thai company what is the tax situation regarding living allowances/local expenses being paid to you where you're working ?

Salary is still paid in Thailand.

Any advice welcome.

Just imagine that you are working in Thailand with a Thai company.

Before they employed you, had they explained to give you allowance and local expenses?

Those things are not taxable except your salary.

Have you tried asking a professional tax company or are you happy with misinformation you may get on this forum?

Don't you think I can generally sort out what answers are based on others real experiences from the ones that just post something to make themselves look clever.

rolleyes.gif I don't know the answer to that, but what I can say is that when I did work in Thailand many years ago, I was given the information that ALL compensation I received, including even such things as travel expenses given to me out of the country for business travel were, just like my salary, taxable .... and I dealt with it like that.

Whether or not it was paid to me in or out of Thailand.

If I were you I'd get legal advice on that point ..... look before you leap.
