Assault units? So he does want violence. Can't wait till he gets his cold plate of karma served up to him. What a sick, drunken parasite.

What do to think would happen if a group of thugs occupied the White House or the Elysee Palace?

Do you think other countries would send clowns to join the party and provide entertainment?

Nope. Assault teams. And much sooner. They wouldn't wait 3 months.

You cant compare thailand to other countries in this matter.

Right, because it might derail the Lord of The Flies foreigner crowd here that relishes their absurd justifications and fantasies and ignore universal standards of conduct and governance.

Convenient thinking.

The Centre for Maintaining Peace and Order has warned 30 major private firms to stop providing support for the People's Democratic Reform Committee protesters, Department of Special Investigation (DSI) chief Tarit Pengdith said.

Mr Tarit, the CMPO secretary, said the warning was issued after they were found to have provided funds, vehicles and shelters for PDRC protesters. He said doing so violated the Criminal Code, the emergency decree and the Anti-Money Laundering Act.

The CMPO also warned some media outlets to stop presenting news deemed inciting unrest and mobilising an uprising against the government, he said.

Mr Tarit said the CMPO also resolved its team of negotiators led by Pol Gen Adul Saengsingkaew, the police chief, should negotiate with the PDRC leaders and ask for the return of government offices which have been occupied.

Negotiations would be held from today until Friday. If there was no satisfactory result, the CMPO would implement its operational plan to retake all government offices by Feb 3, he said.

Sounds not like a warning, more like a threat….

If his Sister was democratically elected by the majority of the people, I don't see any problem. His sister hasn't been convicted of anything and you don't have any proof of Thaksin giving any orders to her to run the country.

Do you have any evidence you're withholding or is it just an opinion in your head?

Now, back to the point ...would the US or France send clowns or an assault team?

Think you need to read up on how YL became PM, she certainly wasn't elected by the majority of Thai people.

I did. Please explain as to why she became PM if she didn't win the election.

She certainly had more votes than Suthep, who now wants to become the "Secretary General" of the "People's Council" - which is completely unelected.

so he's finally realizing that he can't arrest Sutthep in spite of all the yak yak yakking the last few weeks..and instead goes after the pawns just to satisfy his ego...He has to go after someone so it may as well be them...and this will only escalate things...

You realize that it's not Suthep who is blocking the entire city. He's not that fat. It's his pawns who are blocking it, so obviously if you want to open the city you have to go after them.

Makes sense?

No, you don't; not whatsoever. Consider sobering up before posting. Pawns? The more educated tend to vote the democratic direction. So red shirts are intellectuals by far and large, and pro democrats with masters or doctorates are probably the pawns? Listen to yourself. Clueless. You arrived yesterday?

Now pro democrats or PDRC? Because if you want to factor in the PDRC then you are way off base. And btw how many of these educated democrats could study abroad without buying their way in?

Screeching karaoke grandmas and opportunistic vendors flogging fake watches and hello kitty knock-offs. The face of the democratic movement. What a joke. An excuse for some karaoke from some under-empoyed grannies, thugs, bullies and layabouts - and of course the street vendors, to f@#$k up life for ordinary citizens.

those are the "ordinary citizens " :)

What do you think would happen if Barack Obama was tried and convicted of abuse of power and ran overseas from a prison sentence and then managed to get his Sister in his place to get him off of his crimes?

If his Sister was democratically elected by the majority of the people, I don't see any problem. His sister hasn't been convicted of anything and you don't have any proof of Thaksin giving any orders to her to run the country.

Chalerm says seven fast-deployment units set up to "reclaim" govt offices

BANGKOK: -- Caretaker Labour Minister Chalerm Yoobamrung said Monday that he has set up seven fast-deployment units to carry out operations to reclaim government offices besieged by protesters.

He said protesters would be arrested and detained at the Border Patrol Police head office in Rangsit area if they resist the police's operations.

But Chalerm didn't say the arrests would occur immediately after the 72 hour deadline. ..it's still an opened ended deadline. ..just another ultimatum which most likely won't be followed through on.

Sent from my Samsung S4 (GT-I9500)

I think your seriously wrong. I think he's deadly serious. Why don't you go down to the site of one of the government buildings the protesters are blocking and hange out for 72 hours.. Let us know if he was serious or not. Thanks in advance for your public service.

It must be quite disheartening forever giving ultimatums that no one ever takes any notice of.

Must be. Sad old Chalerm didn't even take any notice of the ultimatum he gave to himself..... assuming that is his original head on his shoulders and not a wooden substitute.

I can't recall that Obama handed out 10 USD cash in the slums for a vote. As well he didn't tried to make some amnesty law for his brother.

They do it differently in the US. They give states what we call "pork". These are legal payoffs, like building a bridge to nowhere or government contract or money for other things. The heavyweight senators and congressmen get lots of money for their states. Thailand's brain trusts aren't saavy enough apparently to figure out how to finesse the corruption.

And because no one in Thailand has any common sense it is just one corrupt group vying for the other corrupt group's power in my view which is worthless of course. But it is amusing to see from a Westerner's point of view how one can call Thailand a democracy if you can simply have a coup or stop voters from voting because you don't like who is in power.

Every country's politics is a joke but Thailand's is the most amusing right now to watch as an outsider.

Who is the prime minister in Chiang Mai who had his house robbed when his daughter was having a wedding only for the police to find 200 million baht or whatever in his house? One robber robbing another it seems, eh? They are all corrupt here. Who cares?

She didn't run as a PM candidate. PM's are elected by the House in accordance to has the majority. No PM is ever directly elected to the position.

So are PMs in dozens of other countries around the world, including Europe. Are you suggesting they are not legitimate leaders?

Or are you just trolling?

how about give then 12 hours. And then move in and move them if necessary. Could you please then move them away from Asoke-Sukhumvit intersection and then from Silom Rd. I just took a walk along both sites today. It was early morning at Asoke and not much happening. Silom on the other hand is an absolute circus. Screeching karaoke grandmas and opportunistic vendors flogging fake watches and hello kitty knock-offs. The face of the democratic movement. What a joke. it may have escaped you attention Mr Johnson but most of the people demonstrating are ordinary citizens. At least my extended family are.

Chalerm tells protesters to leave govt offices in 72 hours or face arrests

This actually should read thus.

Chalerm tells Yingluck and the P.T.P. to leave govt offices in 72 hours or face arrests

However it would appear as if the ear medicince has conspired to compound a speech impediment and the wrong words came out in Chalerms comments.whistling.gif

Do you have a source for this?

Or are you spreading false reports?

If the police move in and Chalerm gets his wish to have protestors killed then it's likely there'll be a coup. The military already said they won't stand by if people are killed by the police.

Well that has been Suthep's intention from Day1. To goad te police into violence against the demonstrators. One thing you can be certain of os that when the batons and bullets start tto fly, suthep will nowhere to be seen.

Nor YL, Thaksin or Chalerm
