Commerce Minister: Chinese company might tear up rice purchase contract made with Thailand

BANGKOK, 1 February 2014 (NNT) - Commerce Minister Niwatthamrong Boonsongpaisal has told the press that the Thai government’s Chinese trade partner is concerned about its rice trade with Thailand and might call off the rice deal after the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) launched a probe into the rice pledging scheme.

The minister on Friday said the Pei Ta Hwang company, Thailand’s Government-to-Government trade partner in the rice support program, was concerned that its one-million-ton rice purchase contract with the Thai government might later cause problems.

He concluded that the company’s posibility to cancel the contract was mainly due to the investigation into the program by the NACC.

In January this year, the government had already sold one million tons of rice in the rice pledging program, the minister said.

Thaksin pressed a Chinese button. But the Chinese should take the deal and delivery of all that rotted out aged and pungent rice stored in the heat of Thailand for all those months in those classy Thai warehouses. Vermin feces and all sorts of bacteria and contaminant chemicals all over it.

Problems? The Chinese shoot officials guilty of collusion/corruption. Taking on this albatross of a rice scam might indeed cause "problems" for its Chinese participants.

Why? Something illegitimate about this contract that cannot see the light of day?

Thailand sends rice north, and China makes deposit to bank account in Dubai. bah.gif

Well, would you expect it to be deposited in a bank in Thailand, any double handling needs to be cut-out otherwise someone might cream a bit off the top and the fugitive wouldn't appreciate that.

The problem with all this shit is that there was never a deal anyway.

It was a pragmatic coordination of ideas in a room, in a thought that we can take this money and nobody will ever know.

Unfortunately, even scorpion tails get bitten off when upside down.

Charoen Pokphand (coincidentally or not) . a private company Part of the C.P Group and coincidentally ( or not) one of the Independent Directors of which Is Abhiset's father...[follow the money] this is part of a much bigger power play to discredit whomever they want whenever they want... this is all intended to make Yluck look even worse... she had nothing to do with this part of it these are the real string pullers here in ASIA... this has only to do with discrediting her...nothing more...this is not face brokered this is all back room brokered and Marks pop and the rest of the Independent and not independent Directors of Charoen Pokphand .. . which incidentally is a private company ..not Thai government... besides India and Vietnam give them better deals. didn't the fugitive sue his lawyer as he took his own fees out of a legal payment settlement to make sure he got paid?

its a damning indictment of a client when even your own lawyer does not trust you .........

And, these days that is what it's all about. If the Dems were in power at the time, PTP would be using every means to expose the corruption. As far as Yingluck is concerned, I am beginning to wonder if the dear lady can possibly look any worse after all this crap.

Politics is such a dirty business, unlike farming, of course.thumbsup.gif
