February 4, 201412 yr My wife had 2 2 year visitor visas then 5 year and then a 10 year ,, ask for 10 they will probably give 5 my wife visits UK twice a year for the last 16 years
February 5, 201412 yr See VAT1.4 Visa validity - What period for a multiple entry visit visa?Note the last paragraph: In all instances, if an ECO decides that a shorter validity of visit visa is more appropriate than the one applied for, the ECM should approve it and notes should be added to Proviso. In such cases, no refund (full or partial) is available.(My emphasis)
February 11, 201412 yr Could anyone confirm which application needs to be submitted (General or Family Visit?) Myself and Wife (Thai) and 2 kids (UK Passports) visit UK twice a year (to visit my mother and sister & family) and have always used multiple entry one year valid tourist visa. A 5 or 10 year visa would save a whole load of time. I cannot see there would be an issue but any advice would be appreciated.

What you are describing is a Family Visit, the levels of proof are the same and there is now no right of appeal following the refusal of a Family Visit Visa, so I don't think it really matters. theoldgit
February 11, 201412 yr Which means you should apply for the 10 year visa and with your excellent history it's a rubber stamp job.
February 12, 201412 yr Which means you should apply for the 10 year visa and with your excellent history it's a rubber stamp job. There is no such thing as a "rubber stamp job", the ECO will consider all the evidence submitted before making a decision. In all likelihood an application would succeed, but no applications are simply "rubber stamped. theoldgit
