Bad gin

Featured Replies

Hi,

I felt like I got poisoned last night on a bottle of gin that I bought in the town.

It was Contessa and made in India. I used to drink Gilbeys, then my mother brought over some Gordons from the UK which put Gilbey's to shame. I wanted to try something new. I was recoomended Contessa by the lady in the shop. She said that they supplied all the hotels on Koh Tao with it and that no one was buying Gilbey's anymore. I thought I would give it a shot.

It didn't taste like gin. It was horrible. Foolishly I had a few G and T's.

I woke up feeling very ill. I poured the rest of it down the sink.

Does anyone else have any experience with this?

Ta.

Not with gin but Blend 285 gives me a severe migraine for several days. Never touching that again.

I drink Gilbey's regularly with plenty of Lemon and of course tonic. It will never be as good as Gordon's, but no poisoning.
