... as one of two Thais in athletes ... respect for this lady and her character ... really impressive how she goes for what she likes...

I think her non-physical traits are likely more from the Chinese and farang in her background than anything to do with Thailand.

Photoshopped? There's a white line around her head.

The image does look Photoshopped, but she was there at the opening ceremonies. The other Thai athlete carried the flag, and she followed in trace. In the Olympics, though, she is competing as Vanessa Vanakorn.

The other Thai athlete is Kanes Suchanritakul, an alpine skier.

why? and what does non physical traits mean?

Physical - pertaining to her body, appearance, her beauty is very Thai, or at least luk Kreung,

As she's been raised overseas, more as a Brit and Singaporean, the Kingdom can't really lay claim to her other attributes as acclaimed in the OP.

Her father is Thai and her mother is Chinese. Farang??. She is also a British citizen.

There seems to be a bit of confusion about her background, so here it is:

Vanessa Mae was born to an English man of Thai background and a Singaporean woman. Her parents divorced and her mother re-married a British citizen. She was raised in Europe and introduced to the violin (and skiing) at the age of four.

She became the richest UK entertainer under the age of 30 with her style of techno-classical music. She was estranged from her biological father for quite some time, but when she wanted to compete in the Olympics, the two became close again. Thailand, of course, jumped at the chance to "claim" her as one of its own, and she became a Thai citizen a couple of years back. She qualified for the Olympics based on the required number of races and scores.

I watched the opening ceremonies, and the announcers were all over her and ignored the flag-bearer completely.

No question she's been photoshopped in. Maybe they thought she was competing for North Korea.

Maybe because she has aged a bit ? This picture is the most recent one, and to me she look much less attractive as how we all know her.

For those in doubt, Vanessa is the one on the right.

Everyone is blurred, except her. Even the ones in front of her. But good luck, anyway!!

That's normal - depth of field. It's probably not photoshopped - why would it be?

no, it's not photo shopped. It's the reflection of flood light while the others a little blurred out so that you can't see the same effect as it makes on her.

Look at the national teams at soccer in Europe...have the player can't even speak "their" countries language......

It looks like Miss Vanakorn finished dead last, 74th 67th out of 74 67 finishers, 50.10 seconds aggregate for two runs behind the Gold Medalist.

But kudos for finishing, running in poor conditions, fifteen others DNFed. I'd say finishing, even last, is a lot better outcome than I would have predicted.
