Having extra documentation available is always good. So something that shows your employment is good, and a letter from your employer that states you are on a holiday leave of absence for 1 week and will be back to resume your duties on date xxx is also good. And provide a reference with phone number for your manager/supervisor or HR person for the place you work. Something that shows your income is required to apply for a visa for some countries, but always a good thing to have available. And many countries require you get travel insurance, and to be honest you should have this anyway so get that; it's not too expensive.

Thai people are visa-exempt for short stays, but people from the Philippines aren't. So you will need to apply for a visa. Japanese embassy will tell you what is required.

Contact the Japanese Embassy in Bangkok, but you will most likely need a copy of your tax form, work permit, proof of money.

It is easier if you book a tour and have them handle it for you.

The restrictions have lessened for Filipinos in Japan but still relatively more difficult than SE Asian travel.
