ZERMATT: -- The rumours that former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is dead from a snowboard accident in Switzerland was a hoax.

Global Associated online that broke the news posted a message at the bottom of the site which read, "FAKE... THIS STORY IS 100percent FAKE! this is an entertainment website, and this is a totally fake article based on zero truth and is a complete work of fiction for entertainment purposes!"

The false report saying that Schwarzenegger died in a snowboarding incident is getting passed around the internet. Many have paid tributes to the actor-turned-governor.

The online reported that the actor has died shortly after a snowboard accident during his vacation at the Zermatt ski resort in Zermatt, Switzerland with family and friends.

Witnesses indicated that he lost control of his snowboard and struck a tree at a high rate of speed.

He was air lifted by ski patrol teams to a local hospital, however, it is believed that the actor died instantly from the impact of the crash.

Not the first in the club, not even in a snowboarding accident. smile.png

Eddie Murphy has joined the death hoax club. Online rumors swirled on Wednesday that the actor tragically died in a snowboarding accident in Switzerland.

The manner of his death should have indicated it was a hoax. Other stars who have "died" in snowboarding incidents include Keanu Reeves, Adam Sandler and Jim Carrey.

Jeff Goldblum and Tom Hanks both met their maker after allegedly falling from cliffs in New Zealand. In April, Ryan Gosling reportedly died while filming in Austria and falling from a cliff.

Let's face it - tons of celebrities have been victims of death hoaxes, particularly in the last few years with the proliferation of twitter. Anyone can start a rumor, and it can go viral very quickly.

I am extremely surprised that these hoax website aren't sued and shut down.

This is disgusting and a pathetic parasitical way in which to make money.

The creepy part is that these reports and the energy that is attached to them can have and have had fatal consequences. They pulled this stunt on Phillip Seymour Hoffman and he was dead within the week.

The $hite that people are willing to put up with all for the sake of "entertainment",... what a sick world it is we live in!!!

He did die, but then John Connor sent an identical replica back to make sure SkyNet isn't able to start the war.

They had to make the replica look as old as the previous version so people wouldn't get suspicious.

I thought he ran into Clint and he saved him.
