Staff Canteen Fire at Banglamung Hospital

PATTAYA:--A full evacuation of Banglamung Hospital was being considered as a fire ripped through a staff canteen late on Thursday Night.

Eight Pattaya Fire Engines were called to the Hospital just after 10pm to deal with the fire which spread to a shed behind the canteen.

Retired Colonel Chawalat aged 60 and his cousin Khun Banlang aged 32 are responsible for the canteen but were not at the location when the fire occurred. Initial investigations suggest an electrical short circuit was to blame.

It took more than one hour to control the fire and during that time evacuation plans were being put into action should the fire not have been brought under control within a reasonable time.
