If you are a Japanese investor, and the Chairman of the Board of a Japanese company is attacked, would you want to invest more in Thailand. This will not help the Board of Investment attract more foreign investors.

Aren't members of ACT required to file public financial disclosures so that any conflict of interest can be identified? The ACT is an organisation that attempts to reduce corruption by promoting open practices in business and public policy, and promote public awareness of good governance. The ACT did protest to the government about the amnesty bill, because it's goal of white-washing corruption was incompatible with the goals of the ACT. The ACT is not involved in any investigation of corruption in the PTP.

Naturally an organisation working against corruption is seen as a threat by a corrupt (care)taker government, which is possibly why it's chairman has been set up as a target for this attack by it's supporters.
